Everybody seemed to be able to make a Carl Perkins song into a hit except Carl Perkins. Elvis got Blue Suede Shoes from Carl and the Beatles took his Matchbox and others. Even though it would be others who made his songs into hits that doesnt mean Carl couldnt rock, far from it, Carl was a true Rockabilly and this CD shows it. Plus, this is a Bear Family CD and there aint another company that collects and perfects a collection as well as Bear Family does. A real treat.

An import collection of Perkins' groundbreaking Sun singles, Up Through the Years offers eight more tracks than Rhino's Original Sun Greatest Hits; both discs are definitive collections.
