Carl Weber has out done his self once again. I couldn't put this book down. it had all the drama and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a must read, and would be great for a book club.

This was a great book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a twister. I did not expect it to end that way.

Excellant read!! At first I though it was going to be too ghetto. I found that I loved the characters were college educated with careers. This book was hard to put down. It had lots of twist and turns. Not predictable at all. Lots of drama. Im glad it was ficton so it was okay that everyone did not live happily ever after. It was an original ending and very unexpected. This was my first CW novel and definately not my last.

First I would like to say that I love this book also. It's a good, touching hell of a book, and if readers don't get anything out of it, then it's a shame. The book is good and as you read it you'll be into it like I was. It's like sitting back on a couch, relaxing and watching tv. GOOOD Book

Drama from the 1st page til the last page. I don't really like the ending but overall it was an ok read.

I am a huge Carl Weber fan, so I can honestly say this book was just okay. It wasn't anything to brag about but it wasn't entirely a dud either. This would be a good book for a novice reader; however a seasoned reader wouldn't be impressed. It keeps your focus and bores you at the same time.

I have read all of Carl's books, and loved them all. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about this one.I'm sorry but this book just didn't cut it for me. The begining was good, and the drama was on point. How ever the middle of the book did begin to drag, and the ending was rushed. I wasn't expecting a happy ending for everyone, but this ending was sad, dark, and just threw me off. I wasn't happy for any of the characters, just happy it was over...

From page one, I was captivated. I thought Carl Webber did an excellent job of making the characters come to life, especially the overly spoiled daughter! Was a little disappointed in the end, but it was still a good read!

I don't write reviews. But, I felt I had to write a review about this one. I am a fan of anybody that write in the first person and make the story believeable. Weber did his job and he did it well. Don't get me wrong there were time when I was like that was predictable but overall, I was impressed. This book is filled with enough twist and turns that you will keep turning pages.

James Black was a player all of life all of his life until he met one woman that he honestly fell in love with, however; she turned out to be a gold digger. He was willing to trade in his luv-em and leave-em card in. James'son, Darnel decided a long time ago to be a one-woman's man. That hurt him in the end because the love of his life was sleeping with his best friend, Omar and a whole lot of others (she was a freak). James' daughter, Jamie had trust issues but rightly so. However, she found true love with attachements that led her to leave her family behind. The book was the bomb. There were lessons learned, sacrifices made and many surprises throughout. I highly recommend this book. This book could definitely have a sequel. The end makes you wonder...

Title: Up to No Good Author: Carl Weber Publisher: Kensington Series: Church Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 4 Review: "Up to No Good" by Carl Weber... "There is always a man around the corner. Now he'll have to find a way to bring peace to their lives. But he can only do it by facing some hard truths about himself and changing his scandalous ways." What I liked from the novel..... This was another one of this author good reads. "Up to No Good" was definitely one of this author types of drama novels that will keep you on the edge of your seat with a lot of drama and suspense and leave you wondering what will come next. You will be left saying 'what a story' that was a little predictable but yet not disappointing in any way with some characters that were simply off the chart. Some of the characters were greatly flawed while a few others were simply well developed, engaging and oh so real to give the readers a simply good character development with a excellent subplots along with a unforgettable story line. The ending will definitely leave thinking just how far would you go to help out a blood relative. That ending left me in awe...because even though I know that person had a lots of demons and definitely needed help....I never thought that would happen. I am still shaking my head about that ending. All that is left to say is wow what a interesting intensed read that still I have thoughts about long after this read. If you are looking for drama with a lots of pain and craziness you have come to the right place for "Up to No Good" will give it all to you and more!

If you follow any of Carl Weber's church series you have heard of Deacon James Black, and you would know he is a mess and a half.  He is just the same in this book, but it goes deeper into his personal life.  He has two children and they too are going through their individual problem.  However just like their father they have some deep rooted issues of their own.  The book was a page turner and I didn't stop until I was finished.  I had to know what was going to happen.  I will not spoil it for those who have not read it yet, but I will say there is rage, sex, violence, scandal, and a lot of mystery.  Hope you Enjoy.  -- Norman LaVelle

The beginning was promising, the middle was constant drama (Darnel) but the ending was not what I would have hope for. James is cool cause you get what see and those types are always easy to deal with. Jamie's obsession with her father is disgusting and she had me worrying about what type of relationship she wanted with her father. I can appreciate Darnel wanting to bein a faithful relationship but that takes 2 people wanting the same yhing and he just didn't get that! I love me some carl weber but this was not his best work.
