a fascinating look at life during the renaissance

I recently read this book for the second time and it was just as much fun as the first time. Included are some amazing stories of things women did. It makes me glad I live in the times I do, yet also makes me yearn for the simpler times when all a girl had to worry about was marrying a rich man and not dying from childbirth, plague, or bogus convictions of witchcraft. I plan on reading other Uppity Women titles.

    Better Than Traditional History Texts!

Third in the series and just as wonderful as the first two! Vicki Leon has managed to bring us glimpses into the lives of women long ago forgotten who managed to buck tradition. Inspiration for every woman who thinks she is a pioneer in a world of men!

    A Fun Read

This book doesn't give much detail about the lives of these women. It does present a brief glimpse about these women who were living outside the conventions of their soceity. most women featured are from the early 17th century.
