Interesting, exotic, and vividly detailed. A very well written adventure. Touches on family, friendship, loyalty, racism, drugs, and murder. Never judges, just tells the story and brings you into the daily life and world of the characters. This book is long but never boring or predictable. The price (FREE) has nothing to do with the quality of this book. note: As the first part of the book ends the characters and setting changes. This can be a little confusing (you wonder if this a collection of short stories). Don't worry - it will all tie in.

Good story with realistic characters and believable family and gang dynamics. Author is well researched in Rasta culture, sea faring, Maori culture, flora and fauna, hunting and trapping. Reading this work has made me want to visit New Zealand. I wonder if the author is working on a sequel? I would definitely read it !

This book was amazing. Not only was it a good read but an educational adventure. I've visited New Zealand as a tourist but now see that there is so much more to the country then meets the eye. I must go back and experience the wild side!
