One of the Best Treatments of the Subject

This is a serious book, not to be confused with the various sensational treatments of the subject. Although it provides its share of war stories it is primarily intended as a discussion of the issues surrounding the use of US SOF, past, present and future. The sections on SOF in Vietnam and on the struggle surrounding the creation of the US Special Operations Command are especially good and contain much material not found elsewhere.
