Providing one page per alphabet letter is the format. Each letter is shown in both upper and lowercase forms and in an alliterative sentence with an accompanying picture. This approach provides an interactive aspect as well. Asking the reader questions to be answered at the end of each page piques their interest. In addition the reader is asked to help spot the little yellow duck that is hidden in each illustration. Younger children who enjoy animals and mimicking their sounds will be delighted by the antics of the ducks, pigs, frogs, and turkeys. At the preschool and kindergarten levels, many curriculum programs focus on one alphabet letter daily or weekly and surround it with activities. This book could be used to initiate the lesson or it could serve as a review for previously taught material. The illustrations display appropriate childhood activities, such as playing dress-up, roller-skating, and banging a drum. The alphabet is presented in such a delightful manner that it should appeal to several different agegroups. Part of the "Farmyards Tales Books" series.
