Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ru Story-Huffman
This excellent book is a wonder for children and adults alike. The Usborne Living World Encyclopedia is divided into two sections: living things and their environments, and arrangement of animals and plants in the environments where they are found. Each subject is a virtual encyclopedia in itself. The topics are presented with clear, short descriptions and are nicely illustrated. Each topic has numerous subtopics that relate well to the subject at hand. Some words are highlighted with an asterisk, while others are printed in bold type. Both these signals point the reader to additional information and definitions. The topics are broad and cover subjects such as the earth, the seas and oceans, islands, grasslands, polar regions, and mountains. Even my 14-year-old son enjoyed this book.
