Editorial Reviews

www.christianbookpreviews.com
Using exaggerated cartoon scenes provided by artist Jared Lee, this book provides comedic elements that youngsters can identify with. More importantly, it diffuses any worries or anxieties young children may have about having to 'go to school' during summer vacation. It makes VBS sound exciting and fun, and underscores the message that children can learn more about God there, too. – Dr. Dennis E. Hensley

Why should I go to VBS?

This is another book from the Tales from the Back Pew series. Mom asks her son if he wants to go to Vacation Bible School. He doesn't think anyone would want to go to school during vacation to study the Bible. His Mom tells him about VBS and why he should go....to learn more about his Best Friend.

Personally, I did not like the cartoon illustration of God at the end of the book and didn't feel like the Mom gave very good description of VBS or reasons as to why the boy should go.

As I mentioned in my review for the other book I feel if you like the Black Lagoon Series you will like these books because they are so similar.
Thank you to Pam at Zondervan for sending me a review copy of this book.

    Wake Up To Discover Fun!

There are a lot of kids who think that Vacation Bible School will not be fun. I think because the word "school" is in the name. These kids might want to read this fun and creative book.
Vacation Bible Snooze shows the fun of Vacation Bible School in a truly imaginative way. Mike Thaler's view of the world of VBS is fun and over-ther-top. He has really captured how to entertain kids, seeing the world through their eyes.
Jared Lee's illustrations capture the mood and spirit of the book perfectly. Thanks to his elaborate art style, kid's will want to return to this book over and over again to find all the little things that they missed in previous viewings
