Different from her others, but great!

Well, I love all of this author's books, but since this wasn't a Medieval book, I almost didn't get it. But I got it anyway, and boy am I glad! I can't really describe this book, unless to say it made me laugh so hard I had to take a break. My stomach muscles hurt! This book has a likable demon in it that has chosen to look like Kevin Bacon (whom I happen to like). He helps guide the main character, who makes a wish (hence the name of the book) to be thin. She has no idea at the time that she was in posession of a magical amulet that grants her the wish. But the book is much, much more than that. It actually gets pretty deep in spots. There's a great chapter, the conversation with Dave, where he reveals that everyone is fat because of demons. I knew it! Really, this book is different from anything I have ever read, and I highly recommend it.

Where has this book been all my life?

I have enjoyed all of Ms. Stratton¿s novels. So when I saw she had a new one, I couldn¿t wait to read it. Well, this is not an historical romance like all the others. This book got into my soul and actually made me cry, both for joy and with the realization that someone understands how I feel! This is the book all my life I had hoped someone would write. I have always had a weight problem, and Ms. Stratton crawled into my head and revealed all my thoughts, right up to the little creep in the elevator and the skinny waitress. And it gets funny, too. Making Kevin Bacon a Demon was a stroke of genius. Someone has GOT to make this into a movie! I predict this book is a best seller soon.
