Warning! Hot Stuff!!

Setting: Present Day, San Francisco Architect Jordan McBride is filling in for his brother, Austin, who is currently honeymooning. Jordan is amazed to discover that the small business Austin started, to help see himself through college, has now become so popular; the phone never stops ringing! In fact, business is so good, all the entertainers are booked solid right through Valentine¿s day. Just when Jordan decides he¿ll have to start turning people away for engagements for the weekend of Valentine¿s Day, a gorgeous woman walks in, hands over two thousand dollars in cash, and requests a Valentine Fantasy with ¿the works¿! Cait Sullivan, a reporter who will do almost anything to break away from covering glittery parties and charity auctions of the rich and famous, is tipped off by Louden Avery that Fantasy for Hire not only provides entertainment for parties but is a facade to hide the real business of the firm - providing escorts and other questionable ¿favors¿. Cait has been desperate to break into the real world of news coverage and she smells a story! Going undercover, Cait is determined to gather enough evidence against the firm and the owner to blow the cover sky high with a story. VALENTINE FANTASY should have had a clause printed on the first page of the book: ¿Warning! Hot Stuff!¿ Jordan McBride was delicious, sexy and charming. Just the kind of hero we all dream about in our fantasies. The sexual tension sizzles from the minute Cait and Jordan meet and the captivating romance of the story is enough to sweep a reader off her feet. With VALENTINE FANTASY and her previous book, THE SEDUCTION OF SYDNEY, Jamie Denton has displayed a rich talent for writing funny, unforgettable romances that are filled with a wonderful cast of characters and bone-melting love scenes. The dialogue is easy to follow and Ms Denton¿s storytelling style is a joy to read. The plot was well thought out and beautifully executed. Ms Denton followed it up with an enticing and delightful story that has an all too sweet and predictable finale. VALENTINE FANTASY is a wonderful contemporary category romance and fans of Jamie Denton will definitely want to keep this book on their shelf!

    more from this reviewer

    Excellent contemporary romance

Louden Avery informs San Francisco Herald reporter Cait Sullivan that the popular 'Fantasy for Hire' firm provides services other than male stripping at bachelorette parties. Louden insists sexual favors are exchanged for large sums of money. Cait, who reports on fluffy good news, always dreamed of being an investigative journalist. She sees this as her opportunity to become a CNN reporter even as she wonders why Louden selected her.
Cait decides to go underground. She meets Jordan McBride, who is temporarily running 'Fantasy for Hire' while his brother goes on a honeymoon (see CHRISTMAS FANTASY for Austin McBride's tale). Cait and Jordan, an architect, feel an immediate attraction for one another. She gives him $2000 so she can receive the 'works'. As Jordan provides Cait with her VALENTINE FANTASY, they fall in love with one another. However, he thinks she is a young lady with a large trust fund. When he learns the truth, Cait wonders if her budding relationship will end even as she firmly believes that 'Fantasy for Hire' is innocent of Louden's charges.
Though it can stand alone, VALENTINE FANTASY is an engaging contemporary romance that makes for a fine companion piece to Janelle Denison's CHRISTMAS FANTASY. Author Jamie Denton showcases her storytelling abilities by keeping the essence of the lead characters that starred in Ms. Denison's novel, but fully incorporating them into this delicious plot. The story line is fun, as the enticing lead characters' 'fantasy courtship' makes for an entertaining tale. Ms. Denton provides sub-genre fans with a pleasurable novel.
Harriet Klausner
