Values for a Life Economy

"Values for a Life Economy" begins with the opening of one's heart: love, compassion, and empathy expand from within.

We are never not connected. Like the flapping of the butterfly's wings, what we do in our own lives affects others, even those on the other side of the planet.

The Golden Rule leads us to recognise the sacredness and fragility of the world and to treat the Earth and its species with compassion. Ultimately, it leads us to promote a Life Economy - a system that works toward the well-being of all life on our planet.

This booklet is the culmination of a year-long series of conversations, launched shortly after the lockdown started in Europe, that explored how to achieve 'Good After Covid 19'.

These conversations brought people of all ages from across the world together online to share their expertise and perspectives. People came from different sectors, backgrounds, and professions, from business, NGOs, governments and activist groups.

Contributions from 20 inspiring members of the original discussions, expertly curated by Kim Polman and Anthony Bennett, reflect on these conversations, asking 'what's changed?' The book provides 10 unifying values and reflection activities, as part of a rich, broad and inspiring map that guides us towards a life economy.
