Overview

A bloody war is raging across the oceans, with the Pirate Federation and Nocturnals in alliance against the renegade Vampirates, led by Sidorio and Lola. Nothing will stop either one from making their presence dangerously known in battle.

Connor and Grace Tempest each have important roles to play in the war - he as a pirate warrior at the heart of the fight; she as a powerful healer working with the war-wounded. As the twins face their greatest challenges to date, old allies and foes return to play their part in the ultimate battle of Pirate versus Vampirate.

In this - the conclusion of this sequence of VAMPIRATES novels, the stakes are higher than ever. Relationships will change. An army of the dead will return to fight. There will be new threats and new alliances and characters will die before the ending which will see Grace and Connor poised to start momentous new journeys. In the words of Obsidian Darke, "So it ends, so it begins."

Reviewed by Karen P. for Readers Favorite "Vampirates: Immortal War" is the sixth book in the series by Justin Somper. Not having read the first five books, I feared that I would immediately be lost in this book. However, that was not the case. The author did a superb job of acquainting the reader with relevant issues so that the current book would grab the reader's attention from the first. The Pirate Federation has combined with the Nocturnals to challenge forever the power of the Vampirates. Led by evil-minded Sodorio and his wife Lola, the Vampirates set out to conquer the alliance, thinking it is weak and dwindling in numbers. The Vampirates have underestimated the power of brother and sister twins Connor and Grace Tempest. Connor is granted authority as a pirate captain and Grace has become a powerful healer while working with the wounded in the ongoing war. This book has it all for adventure readers. Deadly enemies are pitted against one another in a fight to death. Both evil and good suffer in the battle and alliances and friendships are sorely tested. Lola gives birth to twins only to lose one of them while husband Sidorio wages a crazed war to crush the Pirates. The pace of the battles in no way diminishes the development and depth of relationships and this is a rare occurrence in an adventure book. The reader knows the characters and becomes interested in the outcome. It is a book of beginnings and ends and of new beginnings which tease the imagination of the reader to the very end.

This book is hands down THE best book i have ever read i really do think there should be a seventh book in the series mainly because i would like to see what Somper could do with, Graces marriage, conners adventure, and hunter and Evil so if he is reading this he really.shoud make another book

The theme of these series is very original. The cross-over of pirates and vampires was pretty ingenious. I have read all six books and liked them immensly, however the ending to this book is highly unagreeable. The ending demand that this author follow-up even thouugh this was supposed to be the conclusion of this series.

Very, very sad ending to Connor. :( But the book and story are fantastic, and as u know i always reccomend another book to read after this. Here it is: Science Fair by Dave Barry and Pearson.
