Overview

It was one last mission. Shannon, a demon hunter with the agency, is looking forward to leaving behind the small town and the vampire she's been stuck with for the past two years. Things are getting complicated fast and she wants out. A fresh start, free of her vampire partner, awaits her if she can survive their final mission and the lonely Christmas holidays.

It was one last mission. Rafe, a vampire doing time with the agency, watches it approach with dread weighing heavily in his stomach. Two years of working with Shannon has been difficult, especially since he started falling for her, but he doesn't want their partnership to end. He has barely a few days to make her face her feelings and stop her from leaving, and he intends to do just that.

When a slimy demon threatens the season of peace and goodwill, it's the chance Rafe has been waiting for and the moment Shannon secretly fears. Rafe's determination to prise open her heart and her own resolve to keep it closed clash as violently as they do with the demon, and threatens to end as messily.

Can Rafe make Shannon see that his love for her is real and that she feels something for him too? Can Shannon face her fears and her past, and stop herself from running away from both? Will a wish on a star bring her what her heart truly desires—a vampire for Christmas?

Vampire for Christmas by Felicity Heaton Rafe is an older vampir

Vampire for Christmas by Felicity Heaton
Rafe is an older vampire. He is in a sad situation, he has fallen for his partner. Shannon is a human who he hunts demons with. She seems to really enjoy killing vampires. And she often lets her feeling towards them known to Rafe...reminding him what he is.

Shannon has requested to be moved and no longer partner with Rafe. Not because of her hate for vampires though, more because she fears what she feels towards one in particular. This story takes place on their last few days of hunting together. Where Rafe knows it's his last chance to let her know how he feels and her last few days to either stay strong and leave him behind...or give into how she really feels about him.

This is a free ebook and worth the read. The author does well with pulling on the readers emotions. It has romance and some adventure as they go “hunting”. For me it was a fairly quick read.
    **Sexual situations.

Vampire for Christmas is a short hot read from Felicity.

Shannon is a demon hunter who has worked with Rafe, a vampire, for the last 2 years. They are coming to the end of their time working together but does either really want it all to end?

I really liked the characters and the attraction and heat between them was obvious from the start.... Shannon needs to stop clinging to the past, open her heart and start looking forward in her life and Rafe needs to take a step and finally find out if she feels for him the way he feels for her...

Hot, sexy and action packed.... Just what we expect from Felicity.

Grab yourself a copy and see if Shannon get's her wish!!! ;-)

*Book source ~ Picked up for free on Amazon.

Shannon is a demon hunter and Rafe is her partner. Only he isn’t just her partner. He’s a vampire and she hates vampires. But for two years she’s had to work side-by-side with him because the agency said she had to. Now, after one last mission she’ll be free to go. She’ll finally be free of her vampire partner, a reminder of everything she lost. But is she really ready to go? And will Rafe let her walk away without telling her how he feels about her?

An excellent short story about two broken people falling in love. So what if one’s a vampire and the other has been traumatized by one? I love great characters who can overcome difficulties to find their HEA and still manage to work together to do their jobs. Because that gross slimy snot demon is not going to sit around twiddling his um, thumbs(?) while they work out their feelings.

I really enjoyed reading Rafe and Shannon's story. Shannon was hesitant to trust Rafe, not just with her live, bit with her life as she
lived a daily reminder of what damage a vampire could cause.

Actual Rating is 3.5 Stars My Initial Reaction¿ I¿ve had so

    Actual Rating is 3.5 Stars

    My Initial Reaction…
I’ve had so many Felicity Heaton books on my TBR for such a long time, so when I saw this short holiday novella I decided it was time. I really really enjoyed it and will definitely be making my way to her other books as soon as possible.

    The Characters…
For a novella, the characters in Vampire for Christmas, were remarkably well developed. Shannon and Rafe both work for the Agency hunting down demons and vampires and the like. Shannon had an encounter in her past, which unfolds for us as the story progresses, that made her want vengeance. Working for the Agency just made sense. Rafe is her vampire partner. And after two years working together, he’s in love with Shannon. If she’s honest with herself, she loves him too. But she’s too scared to love a vampire after what happened to her, and the big question is – will she let down her defenses before it’s too late?

I enjoyed the relationship between Rafe and Shannon – it felt natural and not forced at all. Felicity did a good job making me believe that these two characters had a long history that I believed, even though I didn’t actually get to see it. That’s so important for me, because I really don’t go for insta-love and was thrilled that this didn’t even feel like it. As for their background stories, they were developed well, but I really didn’t find myself caring too much. I knew that Shannon had something bad happen to her, but I really didn’t care if I ever found out. I guess I wasn’t invested in the characters at that level. That was fine though, because I cared about them in their present and the back story only served to make the present a little more complicated.

    The Story…
Technically Vampire for Christmas has a plot besides the romance between Rafe and Shannon. Their work for the agency has them fighting some goo demon. I frequently forgot that the demon was part of the story and found it more funny than scary or something to be worried about. He flew slime at them… slime that seemed to be nothing more than gross. So there was never any anxiety or feelings of danger on my part. It was neat to see Shannon holding her own, to an extent, with the demon and Rafe though. I did find myself wondering how these two had survived for two years, considering the trouble they were having fighting off this laughable goo demon.

The real story in Vampire for Christmas is the relationship between Shannon and Rafe. And that was very well-written and enjoyable (as I’ve already suggested above). Felicity is very good at creating a believable relationship and sexual tension is so few pages. And when she gets to the good stuff… it’s oh so good! Hot, sexy, steamy!

I have to say I was a little disappointed by how small a part Christmas played in the story, since I did pick it up as a holiday read. It’s part of the story, yes. But it could have easily been left out and the story wouldn’t have been changed at all. So it was a backdrop of little importance and that made me a little sad. Oh well, I still enjoyed the novella.

    Concluding Sentiments…
Vampire for Christmas is fun, sexy paranormal romance. Don’t expect to be thrilled by the action or thrown into the holiday spirit, since both elements are backdrops for the romance. But if you like a quick read with some great sexual tension that does pay off by the end, this is one for you!

REVIEW: Shannon has to overcome so much from losing her parents

    REVIEW:
Shannon has to overcome so much from losing her parents and brother to a crazed vampire. When the
agency she worked for paired her with Rafe 2 years ago she was in awe. Rafe was a vampire although not a
blood thirsty killer he was still a vampire. Over the next 2 years they were partners killing demons and
other vampires. Rafe was her stone to lean on and eventually she has to face her feelings for him .
Will it be enough to keep them together forever?

Such a Romantic Book !!! And I like how smoothly the story line flows.

    Couldn't put it down.

I really loved this story. Couldn't put it down. Shannon is a Vampire Hunter, teamed up with a reformed Rafe, who happens to be a vampire himself. From the start, you get that this is their last assignment together and Rafe is trying to hold on to the last few days they have together. Although Rafe is a young vampire, he's very wise. The time he's been working with Shannon, he doesn't know the particulars of what drives her to hunt Vampires, but he knows to respect her pain. Shannon is proud and independent. You can read her struggle to fight her inner demons and resolve what she feels for Rafe. Their encounter with this slimy demon is hilarious. Definitely recommend this book. Great writing as well. Brings you into the character's feelings.
