A great book. Just as good as the first and cannot wait for the third.

Vampire Wake is the second book in the Kiera Hudson series by Tim O’Rourke. I wasn’t sure if it was possible for the second book to be as good as the first. I was wrong. In the second book Kiera thinks she is getting a break away from her worries and problems only to find out she is put in the middle of an even worse situation than before. Kiera finds out more about the Vampyrus and in turn more about herself and her gifts. I loved this book. It was suspenseful from beginning to end. I often had to force myself to put it down and get other things done. I cannot wait to start reading Vampire Hunt. I would defiantly recommend the book. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

    A Superb Sequel!

Tim O¿Rourke is an amazing author. I¿ve read all five of his novels and, like a fine wine, his novels just keep getting better with time. Every single one of his novels have grabbed my attention and glued me to the pages, and Vampire Wake is no different. The second book in the Kiera Hudson trilogy, O¿Rourke creates a deliciously creepy tale continuing the story of Kiera, Paul, Potter, and Murphy, while adding new characters along the way.

I really loved this novel. I love vampires in general, but O¿Rourke has taken an age-old tale and made a completely unique, exciting story out of it. This novel is full of suspense, creating an enticing read, especially as some parts of it are a tad bit creepy, which makes it all the more fun, in my opinion.

Kiera, the strong female lead, is an amazing character. Her personality and sentimentality make her an extremely real persona and I feel like I actually know her. She has a very kind and caring disposition, but at the same time, she doesn¿t let people walk all over her. Kiera is a very strong character and she has endeared herself to my heart. Luke is another character that I absolutely love, and sparks fly when Kiera and Luke are together, adding to my love for this series. It takes a special kind of writer to create such phenomenal characters, and O¿Rourke has proved, time and time again, that he is an exceptional writer. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! Five stars.

6 Months have passed since Kiera Hudson left The Ragged Cove. Seeing is believing and Doc Keats and the rest of the Police Force didn’t see what went down at The Ragged Cove, she did. Nobody seems to want to believe that vampires were the reason for the deaths and missing people. Kiera has to prove to the Doc her sanity on a weekly basis, if she wants her badge back.

The past 6 months haven’t changed her story, what do they want her to say? One way to shut the Doc up is to prove her ability to ‘see’ things....

Kiera is plagued by nightmares, leaving her bleeding from her left eye....now they are waking nightmares...what is happening?

Enter Lady Hunt who needs Kiera to do a babysitting job for her, now! Although not what Kiera would normally do, she needs an income and to keep herself busy , so off to the creepy Hallowed Manor with its even creepier staff.

What I love about Tim’s writing is he always has a wonderful ambience to his writing. Darkness is his friend. You really ‘feel’ the scene he is writing with lamp light shining in your face.

Tim has introduced some great new characters who are always very interesting and quirky. I think he has brought another hottie to my attention....I can’t wait to read more about him.

What can I say about Potter......apart from my crush just keeps getting bigger. He is such a wise crack , and I love how he always makes good use of a bad situation, especially if it involves Kiera. He does make me laugh out loud. I think if the layers were peeled back Potter is somebody who has been hurt underneath, he has a protective shell that is his shield and he doesn’t like anybody getting past it. I do love it when Potter calls Kiera, “sweet-cheeks” and “easy Tiger!”

Luke has me all in knots as I don’t want him to be hurt, I kind of want Kiera to end up with Potter....but Luke is just this nice guy that cares about her , wants to protect her, throws himself in harms way to save Kiera..... he may even love her.

I love a well written action scene and Tim visually writes his action scenes very well. He always has a lot going on in his fight scenes and Potter and the lads are always up for a challenge.

The reader is in for another mystery and what better person for the job than Kiera Hudson. When you think you have something worked out....Tim throws in another twist.

Kiera has a more ongoing drama in her life that we will no doubt read more about in Vampire Hunt the third book in the series to be released December 2011. I can’t wait!

Tim O’Rourke has a delicious recipe of action, blood ( yes , there will be blood), witty dialogue, twists, hot guys, quirky characters, dark tales, paranormal creatures, rule breakers, awesome ambience and a mystery to keep you turning the pages. If you haven’t picked up Vampire Shift, with the totally awesome cover, then what are you waiting for, I highly recommend it. Once you have visited ‘The Ragged Cove’ you will be itching to get your hands on Vampire Wake and visit , ‘Hallowed Manor’.

Mr O'Rourke has provided us with another gem of a book about his awesome, intelligent, courageous & compassionate heroine Kiera Hudson. This one is filled with betrayals you dont see coming, a possible love triangle and wider scope on what the future can hold in store for the human race. I highly recommend this book and give it a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5 stars used here

    Where is book 4?

Great series! I am hooked on these books! I really hate it when you get into a series of books and then can't find the next book. Love the characters!
