Overview

Txema Ybarra is the most unenviable nineteen-year-old girl alive.

Smart, pretty, and athletically gifted, this University of Tennessee freshman should be enjoying college life and her entrance into adulthood. And for a moment she does... until the vampires show up.

Born with an unusual 'twin teardrop' birthmark on her neck, Txema (pronounced Chema) is one of only a handful of females in the world who bear this trait. It marks her as a vessel of eternal youth and beauty for an elite vampire society determined to protect her precious blood... But it also is the only thing standing in the way of a rogue 'undead' nation determined to destroy mankind and usurp the power their sexier brethren have held uncontested for centuries.

Caught in the middle of this war after all the other bearers of the birthmark are murdered, Txema must flee America and heads to France under the protection of five beautiful vampires who all have a vested interest in her survival. The race is on to save her blood, as well as her very life, to ensure the survival of Les Amantes de Vampire.

Otherwise, Txema will be the last one... the vampires' last lover.

Editorial Reviews

One of the best vampire novels I've ever read.... Aiden James is a smooth and stylish writer and The Vampires' Last Lover is proof that we are watching a master at work. You will love his heroin and his world of vampires.

“The hook to this excellent suspense thriller is the twists that will keep readers wondering what is going on as nothing is quite what it seems. Adding to the excitement is that the audience will wonder whether the terror is an evil supernatural creature or an amoral human…Aiden James provides a dark thriller that grips fans from the opening.” —Harriet Klausner, Amazon’s #1 book reviewer

I haven't been so lost within a book like this in such a long time. I was extremely pleased with how vivid the book was, to the very point that I was wishing it to be true. The Vampire's Last Lover kept me in a world of dark romance with twists and turns leaving my imagination thirsting for more. I'm so happy to have come across this new series and summer of 2011 can not get here soon enough for the second book! Better than the vampire stories I have come across including Twilight, True Blood an

    Incredibly cool read!

I've been a huge fan of Anne Rice for years, and grew up with a worn and dog-eared copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula stashed in my nightstand (and later tucked safely inside my backpack). Most of what's out there today is a little too 'syrupy' for my tastes, except for maybe Charlaine Harris and a few others. But this story contains the perfect blend of what I love about Rice, Stoker, and Harris--a tightly written storyline that sucks you in from the first paragraph. Not to mention colorful and fun (and believable) vampires, and a really cool heroine, Txema Ybarra.

Yes, there's romance--plenty of it. Txema is such an interesting character set apart from the typical 'damsel in distress' I've come across a lot of lately. And her birthmark 'affliction' is the most unique angle in the vampire genre I've seen in years.

I highly recommend this book--trust me, you won't be disappointed!!

    Great

Looking forward to the next book. I wonder if Peter is out of the picture. Garvin seems to be holding back, not like a Vamp. Overall a good read.

    Loved it!!

I loved this story!! I liked that it was a very different "Vampire" story. I immediately connected to the characters and the situations they found themselves in. I felt for Txema and all the crisis around her. She handled crisis after crisis to the best her 19 year old abilities. I loved the way the author describes locations and things around. It made me really able to "see" the world Txema is in and the people she is with. I cant wait for the next one!!

The Vampires Last Lover is a book you wont put down till its done!

Once again Aiden James has out done himself, this book is amazing. I love Vampire novels and this is the best one I have read in a very long time, most vampire novels turn into a really bad sleazy romance, this one keeps you guessing till the end and then leaves you hanging on for the next installment. If you are a vampire lover like I am you will love this book!

What a fantastic storyteller! The writing was so vivid that I felt like I was right there along with the characters. This was my first venture into paranormal stories and now I am hooked. Instead of the usual vampires vs humans the plot of this story was the Undead Vampires trying to bring the Elite Society of Vampires to extinction. It is definitely a book that was hard to put down.
