    Great book!

Vamps is a great read and a very pleasant surprise! The title, while catching, belies the depth of insight and historical information that lurks within its pages. From the intro to the last page the author brilliantly illustrates the connection between remote historical events and the modern day femme fatales and dark divas we instinctively adore (and fear) in present-day pop culture. I took a leap in consciousness reading this book. And besides, I got a priceless list of movies featuring these dark goddesses, most of which I hadn't known existed and probably would never have discovered on my own!
