Editorial Reviews

Gilliene Ong
If you ask me what I liked most about Vampyre Kisses, it must be that it includes not only vampires in the story but also witches, wolves and other mythological creatures! Also, I like how the POV changes - I am quite a huge fan of books that have more than one character who narrates the story!
Mary Unknown
Vampyre Kisses was written from both Trent’s and Faith’s points of view in alternating chapters, and I appreciated that the reader was given the opportunity to see things from both sides. The storyline was full of action and excitement, clearly described, and I would be interested in reading more about Faith and Trent’s continuing journey.
Moonlight Unknown
Kolodziej created a mystical tale full of magic and mystery. It’s a fascinating world, completely unique compared to the cookie cutout worlds most vampire authors use.
Marty Shaw
I was intrigued by the importance given to family and bloodlines. Lineage determines witches, slayers, and guardians. It was a very interesting concept that made a whole lot of sense. Another interesting concept was the history of vampires. Their creation is explained in a brand new way, along with introducing a new twist on daywalkers and why vampires can't tolerate sunlight.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. I love a good paranormal book but Elizabeth Kolodziej put a twist on things. This book not only had vampires but it had werewolves, witches, shape-shifters and more. The characters were so well written, I loved all of them including the secondary characters.

Although there were some mistakes regarding the editing of this

Although there were some mistakes regarding the editing of this book, I really enjoyed it. The characters blended together very well, you could relate to each character especially when they let their emotions show. Vampyre Kisses reminded me a lot of Twilight with the Vampire and Werewolves, however, Elizabeth added in Witches and so much more to the mix, which I loved. Can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for us.

Faith goes to a club with her best friend Mac, never did she imagine it would be the night that changed her life forever. This is the night she meets Trent, a hot looking vampire who she is immediately drawn too.

Trent knows there something different about Faith, she's not a normal human and he can feel it. He cant seem to get her out of his mind and is bound to find out what she is exactly.

Once Faith learns who and what she is, she also learns that there has been so much about her parents that she never knew, so much that was hidden from her and the only person she wants to talk to about is gone, her father was murdered and she fears there was more to his death than what everyone wants her to think.

Now Faith knows she needs to do everything in her power to be able to go up against the threat of not just humanity, but all paranormal creatures and everyone is looking to her to save the world. She's not sure she can do it, she feels her emotions may get in the way, that she may not be strong enough to defeat the threat at hand.

¿Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch, Book 1)¿ by Elizabeth J. Kolodz

“Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch, Book 1)” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review..
I really liked “Vampyre Kisses” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej. Overall, I would give it 4 STARS and recommend this book to Young Adult readers as well as Adult readers. I think the story line would satisfy both age groups. This paranormal novel has it all – vampires, werewolves, witches, gods, and goddesses. There was something in this book for almost everyone. I love paranormal books and all things supernatural so I definitely loved all the different characters in “Vampyre Kisses.”
Faith is a young woman that is just going through the motions of life. She is never genuinely happy. One day she discovers the hidden world of the supernatural and she learns her true identity. After learning whom she really is, Faith’s depression lessens. Faith has to help the vampires and werewolves get their gems that were stolen. These gems are the most valuable thing to both species because they alone hold their survival. Trent, the vampire that introduced Faith to her new life, will be right alongside Faith helping her fight. They will need to fight and hope that good prevails over evil.
I loved the characters in this novel. Faith was great and I just loved how she seemed like an average girl. I think her being an ordinary girl made it even better when she discovered she was a witch. I also really liked Trent. He was very old school and spoke very proper, but he was a tough guy at the same time and I loved it. The supporting characters complimented the main characters perfectly. I think everyone was just great throughout the whole story.
If anything in this review sounds interesting to you then you should go and add “Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch, Book 1)” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej to your To Be Read list. There are also more books in the series you can check out as well.

Reviewed by Ellen H. for Readers Favorite

Someone has stolen the gem of the werewolves and the gem of the vampires. They know there is a war brewing and so some werewolves and vampires form an alliance to get the gems back. In the middle is Faith, a human who learns she is a witch, a vampire Trent whom she falls in love with, and Zou Tai, a werewolf who has some feeling for Faith. Together they must figure out who took the gems and why they were stolen. Faith and Trent go to Gordon who sees that Faith is the answer to what is to come. She finds out that not only was her father in love with a vampire but her mother is a slayer and truly evil. Morgan, who was in love with Faith's father, and Trent take Faith to someone who can help her come into her powers. She will need all he can teach her for the battle ahead.

As a fan of the paranormal genre I was very much interested to read this book. The story engrossed me from the first page and didn't let go even at the end. The author painted pictures through the storyline that you could actually see in your mind's eye: “Faith’s hair blew back while her emerald eyes grew milky. The invisible wind came from Faith, not the earth, and swirled around her like a tornado.” There are several minor characters that are enjoyable like Zou Tai and Gordon. Knowing at the end of the book that there is a next one on the horizon is the icing on the cake. Anyone who enjoys paranormals will thoroughly enjoy this book.

    Not very good

It seems poorly written, like it was just thrown together no character development or real details. Feels like its just missing something, not sure ill finish it.

    Vampyre Kisses

Vampire's have been found in so many books in the past few years. I bet you've seen tons in bookstores and probably even read at least a few (or maybe 10, or 50). Now I'm bet you're thinking why another vampire book? Well I can honestly say you have never read a vampire book like this one. There wasn't just Vampires. You will also find witches, werewolves, shapeshifters and Greek Gods. Yes, Greek Gods! It was a new twist to the paranormal tale. Greek Mythology added to the story made everything so intriguing.

The characters were enjoyable. Each one had their own distinct personality. One of the main characters, Faith was a great strong female character, who was caring and just an over-all great person to read about. Trent, the vampire, I didn't like as much. It felt like he was like every other vampire I've read. He did have a Irish (swoon worthy) accent though. My over all favorite character in the book had to be the 'cat'. He was so cute, I just wanted to steal him.

Throughout the book the point of view switched almost every chapter. I'm not to much of a fan of switching point of views and in Vampyre Kisses sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn't. In the beginning there was one scene that we saw in Faith's POV and then in Trent's. It was unnecessary and a bit boring to read the same thing twice. After that it did get better, only repeating things a few times. Sometimes it was necessary to have the two point of views and actually enjoyable. There was also some great actions scenes that I think made up for the switching point of views. Elizabeth Kolodziej definitely has a talent for writing action scenes. They were intense and fast pace, and you could never stop reading during one of them.

Since Vampyre Kisses was self published there were quite a few mistakes throughout the book but that's something you'll get with most, if not all self published books. Vampyre Kisses is also an adult book. Make sure you are comfortable reading adult books if you're going to pick this one up. (This review was for a YA book blog, so I have to mention that)

Despite some mistakes and a few cheesy lines I did enjoy Vampyre Kisses. The plot was so unique that I just couldn't stop reading. If you're looking for a new paranormal book to pick up, this might be one for you.

if you love vampire books you should read

I very much enjoyed this book. Very well writen and a little different from most vampire books you will find. I mean you don't often read about a witch and a vampire together. I read this over the weekend and it is one I couldn't put down. This is now one of my favourites and I can not wait to start reading Werewolf Descent (The Last Witch, #2)

An Enjoyable Vampire Saga with a Twist

I read this book during a vampire/paranormal book marathon over the holidays. It was an enjoyable quick read. The main character was likeable and I enjoyed how she kind of got swept up into the whirlwind of the vampire and paranormal beings around her. It starts off with a foretelling of sorts, and then you delve into the first person dialogue of the main character named, Faith. The book is told from the point of view of both Trent, her love interest and Faith. There is a retelling of scenes that give insight into what each character felt about the event which was interesting. This isn't too gory that a teen couldn't or wouldn't enjoy it and my teen thought it was enjoyable.
