Overview

Vincent Van Gogh's short art career provided the world unparalleled paintings from a troubled genius. It was an age of post-Impressionistic color, form and wonderment that art experts and connoisseurs discovered only after the master's death. Bouts of anxiety, mental illness and epilepsy may have tormented him and brought about his suicide at the age of 37. But they may also have been catalysts for an emotionality and vibrance in his art that reveals a turbulent search for grace.

This volume displays 50 Van Gogh landscapes chronologically arranged in a digitally restored state: their eye-popping brilliance and vivid vitality come across just as on the day Vincent Van Gogh finished them. Unless otherwise noted, they were originally oil paintings on canvas or wood.

Technical Note: These images are in color -- they render beautifully in optimized gray-scale tones for black-and-white e-book readers, but exhibit even more stunningly in full color with color readers -- such as NOOK Color -- and inside apps for color-enabled computers and portable or hand-held devices. How to see all pages

I found that if a book has, say, 11 pages but you can't "flip" to the end you can use the 'go to page' option. Key in the last page then "flip" backwards. This has worked for me so far. You'll notice you'll flip thru 40 or so pages even if the pages number far less.

Not what it claims to be.

The description says that there are 50 images of Van Gogh's painting but there are not. Only four image in total and they can not be enlarged for better viewing. Also there are supposed to be 11 pages, but only 4 pages actually show. Not really worth even the 99 cents in my opinion.
    Buyer beware !
