Meet the Author

Bill Traughber has been a researcher and writer of Nashville sports history for fourteen years. The Nashville-born writer's work has appeared in Athlon's Baseball Annual, Nashville Sports Weekly, Titans Exclusive, Big Orange Illustrated, the City Paper, Tennessee Titans Season Review (2001-2), Sports Nashville, Tennessee Sports Magazine and the National Pastime (SABR).
The History Press published his first book, Nashville Sports History: Stories From the Stands, in March 2010. Traughber's second book, Brentwood Academy Football: From a Cow Pasture to a Tradition, 1970-2009, was published in September 2010 by McQuiddy Classic Printing in Nashville, Tennessee.

He has been recognized as a five-time winner in the Best Feature Writer category and a one-time Writer of the Year as a member of the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.

Traughber's memberships include the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA), Nashville Sports Council, Society of American Baseball Researchers (SABR), United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the Intercollegiate Football Researchers Association (IFRA).

Traughber's stories have taken him to Cooperstown, New York; Anchorage, Alaska, and the White House in Washington, D.C. He resides in Brentwood, Tennessee.
