Nature photographer Mireille de la Lez and cowriter Fredrik Granath have spent years working in the high Arctic and specialize in photography and films of the polar regions. They live in Stockholm, Sweden.

    The Arctic and the North Pole ice is one of the most extreme environments on the planet. It is also the place where the consequences global warming can be most dramatically distinguished. 'Vanishing World' conveys the beauty and harsh reality of this landscape, and although the Arctic is a desert of ice, it is also full of life. Polar bears, seals, arctic foxes, walruses, birds... The pages of this book have the most spectacular images I have ever seen from this part of the world. 'Vanishing World - the Endangered Arctic' is a beautiful, interesting and extremely powerful book.
