I’ve always imagined a vegan diet to be dull, dry and boring, with tasteless food that was no fun at all. This cookbook proves me wrong. In fact, many of the recipes for salads, soups and appetizers could be found in any party cookbook. To make the switch to better eating, just stick this guide in your pocket or purse on your next trip to the market. You’ll learn what to buy and how to fix it, with delicious results.

Interesting recipes await, if you can get through the lengthy (and occasionally shaky) reasoning for veganism. They do note that the diet’s not for everyone, and do provide helpful transition tips. The recipes are varied, with something for everyone, including some that are gluten-free. Instructions are generally simple, although you’ll need to read through them and work out timing, because that information isn’t well-laid out in some cases.

As somebody who has always been curious about veganism but hasn’t had the nerve to actually try it, I found “Vegan Cookbook for Beginners” to have the perfect balance between information about nutrition and diet with delicious and simple recipes that anybody can make. I’ve never really considered becoming a vegan, but the recipes in this book make it seem like a very doable transition. The explanations that it provides help in giving the interested reader some background about veganism in order to have a better understanding of what he or she may be embarking on. It’s a sound investment if thinking about learning the lifestyle.

I do not practice a vegan diet or lifestyle but I have many friends who do. I was curious and wanted to be able to host all of my friends for dinners with confidence and have found this book both informative and interesting! I would definitely recommend it to any who are considering a vegan diet or just curious!

Overall, this book does exactly as described; provide a vegan cook book for beginners. I haven't fully been convinced to go vegan, but this book pushed me that much further into trying it. Many of these recipes look so delicious, I don't think I'd miss the meat very much. This book was an awesome compilation of information that I otherwise may not have found, and it doesn't stop at recipes. This book really aides in preparation for a vegan lifestyle, and warns against diving in head first. The recommendation to ease into things makes sense to me, and can deter a person from giving up on it early. The only thing I would have like more of are pictures, but other than than this is an awesome introduction into vegan-ism.

This excellent resource guide to veganism provides a comprehensive look at the whys, whats and how-tos  of what some opponents might view as a cult. It’s really an alternative lifestyle with its own beliefs, principles  and rules as covered in this book. It is simply a diet that utilizes foods that do not contain animals or animal  products.

This is an excellent cookbook for new vegans. It provides a comprehensive overview of veganism including the history of veganism, information on the health benefits of switching to a vegan diet, as well as an explanation on the various motives people have for becoming a vegan. In addition to a ton of helpful and tasty recipes, the book gives beginner vegans great advice and tips on how to successfully transition to this type of diet. This is a great read for beginner vegans, and experienced vegans will find some amazing recipes in it. (I did get a free copy of this book.)

This is a cookbook for everyone, not just vegans! I have been a vegetarian for over a decade, but I wish I had the Vegan Cookbook for Beginners when I was transitioning. With these recipes, anyone can create meals that are colorful and flavorful. The added health benefits, as shown in this book, make trying the vegan lifestyle even more enticing!

If the vegan diet and lifestyle is for you, this a very good book with those tasty recipes. If you’re like me and sitting on the fence, it could only be seen as a partial win. Did the book convert me to a vegan lifestyle? No. Did it convince me that there are some good vegan recipes? Yes.

Who wouldn't check out a book for free. I never thought I would make food without meat or animal product in it. I came upon a recipe called chilled watermelon soup. I thought yuck, then I made it and it was yummy. Easy to make like everything in this book.

When all the vegans you know are intense and committed people (usually ethically so), it makes the transition and lifestyle seem really intimidating. I am glad for books like this that present the benefits and hints that fuel the drive to make the transition possible for anyone interested in cutting out animal-products. Tons of recipes, with even some smoothies and juices, this is a pretty great reference for those entering the veg-world.

This book give excellent recipes to try for just something to spice up the dinner line up or to help you find your way to a healthier way of life for both you and the environment. A good book for the vegan curious or vegan entrepreneur; though I use it merely as a dairy-substitute handbook to cook for my dairy, gluten, and soy allergic cousin. It is very exciting to be able to cook something other than flavored rice!

This book should be all you need to get started on a switch to eating vegan. Making it simple is that they included what to look for on labels, what to avoid and how to start slow. The variety of meal plans, and the fact that the book offers simple lists of what to buy and what equipment you’ll need to prepare it, makes this a great choice.

I think this book is a great read for beginners and people that have already adopted a vegan lifestyle as well.

Putting veganism in several different contexts: environmental concerns, dietary preferences, religious affiliations, health reasons, the authors take a neutral stance; their stated mission is to provide information so that people can make their own decisions based on what is right for them. Health benefits are listed: lower cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc. The Nutritional benefits: increased potassium intake/reduction in acidity, high in antioxidants, fiber, healthy elimination of toxins, and reduced intake of saturated fats and weight loss. I want to give it a try starting with the Stuffed Zucchini Boats in the recipe section.
