My daughter has food allergies to dairy and eggs, which for the most part totally hinders my love of making cupcakes. I tried cupcakes for her birthday (2 different recipes) and they were very dense and looked more like corn bread than vanilla cupcakes. Last week I bought this book and made the Chocolate Mint cupcakes to take to a party. Everyone loved them. When I told them they were egg/dairy free they were shocked. The recipe was very easy to make and I had all the ingredients on hand, which has not been the case with other vegan cupcake recipes I have tried. This book is fantastic. Great illustrations! Great variety!

This book has tons of great cupcake recipes and is really entertaining! The coconut lime cupcakes are my favorite so far (tangy, sweet and crunchy all at the same time), but the basic chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were big hits too. I definitely recommend this book to anyone, vegan or not, who loves sweets!

These recipes are so easy, so quick, and so incredibly delicious, you may want to make a new batch every day. I've made several varieties and all have been amazing. I constantly get requests for the chocolate stout cupcakes (I cheat and make an irish cream frosting). The tiramisu cupcakes are out of this world, the coconut lime are yummy, and even the basic vanilla cupcakes are fantastic (for a summer treat, try them with fresh berries instead of frosting). Hands down, the best cupcakes I've ever had.

Oh my, soooooo good! I've tried a few of the recipes in this book so far and they've all been awesome! Very moist and very addicting with no animal ingredients whatsoever! My husband and friends could not believe that the choc mint cupcakes were vegan. The coconut lime ones are also incredible. Looking forward to making the toasted coconut ones next! You will not regret owning this book; the intro also includes a very helpful glossary of ingredients and tools. Yay!

I haven't tried them all yet, but the ginger ones my daughter loves. Too many vegan cupcakes I have tried don't have enough flavor. The ones I have tried were really enjoyed by my husband, grandchildren (and we all know how particular children are) and my daughter. The chocolate cherry filled ones are moist and flavorful. Some of the frostings they did not like though.

This is a beautifully desined book with Isa's usual conversational style. As always, she includes substitutions, addressed dietary concerns, and presents choices with varying levels of difficulty and time requirements. Loved it! My friends and my son love it too, since (usually) they get to try the cupcakes, too!

The book has wonderful recipes for cupcakes and the little quips throughout the book are very entertaining. I made the Red Velvet Cupcakes for my sister-in-law who deems herself an expert on red velvet, and she ate 4! Highly recommended for etiher yourself, or to give as a gift. Even if you're not a vegan, check it out!

What a wonderful, easy to follow book! I was thrilled to find a vegan cookbook that doesn't call for completely absurd and overpriced ingredients. Most recipes I can make only using the things I already have at home. The cupcakes are so delicious and are enjoyed even by non-vegans. This is a must have!

I purchased this book for a friend of mine who is always asking questions about being vegan. She's not a vegan, I am, but she loves to bake so I figured it might be fun if she played with some recipes. So far, I've tried 4 of them and OMG, they are so incredibly delicious. Another mutal friends of ours who is also a vegan absolutely refuses to share them with others because she wants to keep them all for herself. I don't blame her, they are honestly that good. The coconut lime cupcakes are my favorite...the frosting is to die for. I agree with the other readers, you won't be able to tell that the cupcakes are vegan. They are perfection at it's finest.

So far I've tried 4 recipes out of this book and all 4 have gone over extremely well. They're not the best 'vegan' cupcake recipes, they're the best cupcake recipes period. I'm the only vegetarian in my family and I've tried several vegan desserts from other cookbooks out on the rest of the family members. They could tell the recipes were vegan recipes as they didn't 'taste right'. However, none of them could tell that the cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World were vegan. They absolutely love them and I get requests for the recipes all the time from both friends and family.

I picked up this book out of sheer curosity (I'm not vegan) and was amazed and not only how good the cupcakes were but how easy is was to follow the directions! I made a big batch for the people I work with and everyone loved them! No one could believe they had no dairy in them!

I am vegan and had never really baked until just a few days ago. The cupcakes I made 'pumpkin chocolate chip with cinnamon glaze and apple cider spice cupcakes' were absolutely amazing and devoured by my omnivore family, accompanied by many compliments. The directions are clear and easy, the ingredients are typically common and easy to find, and the cupcakes are simply delicious. The recipes all say they make 12 cupcakes, but I managed to get 18 from one of the recipes, which was a welcome surprise because they were so popular! Many people mistakenly think that vegan = healthy, but please know that these are scrumptious, decadent little cakes full of sugar. Go on and treat yourself!

I'm not a strict vegan, but I am lactose-intolerant, and I just loved the idea of using tofu and no eggs to make decadent and unusual cupcakes. I've made several batches and they have all been hits. Favorites are green tea (I even went all out w/ marzipan and food dye to get the little flowers on top), cappuccino filled with espresso filling, mexican hot chocolate cupcakes. You can't go wrong, and you don't miss the dairy and eggs (although I use butter in place of margarine most of the time).

I am giving this as a gift and wish I bought an extra copy for me. Book is organized very well with lots of pretty pictures of cupcakes. For beginning bakers, there is a great section in the beginning of the book explaining cupcakes & the required bakeware you need. I love how all the ingredients are very common and that the authors only occasionally use exotic ingredients in their icing. All recipes in this book yield 12 cupcakes. A must for anyone who is a vegan or vegetarian, or simply for someone, like me, who wants to eat healthier by avoiding whole milk & butter & other typical fatty ingredients in traditional cupcakes. The only thing I wish is that this cookbook had a breakdown of calories, fat grams, protein grams, etc... for each serving of cupcake.
