Overview

This book has been re-edited as of September, 2012

The senior citizen sleuth, Jim Richards, has survived the Classmate Murders along with his new girlfriend, Penny. This 2nd new book brings them, along with Buck and Deacon, across the country to Las Vegas, where Deacon's sister, a showgirl, narrowly escapes being poisoned, another showgirl took the poison possibly meant for her. Then a second showgirl is suddenly murdered and Jim and his crew must take action to bring the murderer to justice. Jim's past experiences living in Las Vegas now helps to solve the murder of the showgirls, but his past comes back to haunt him. Could the murderer be a Vegas strip headliner, a comic Jim had worked for, or someone entirely unknown. How many deaths will there be before it ends? One thing for certain, Vegas will never be the same when they finish in this 2nd book of the series.

Meet the Author

Detroit area resident, Bob Moats, has been writing short stories and plays for as long as he can remember. He has lost most of his original stories, typed or handwritten, in the numerous moves he has made from his hometown of Fraser, Michigan to Northern Michigan, to Las Vegas and back to Fraser, where he now Resides. He also wrote the short fantasy novella "Crystal Prison of Kyr" and is a published playwright with his three act comedy "Happily Ever After".

Moats became one of the causalities of unemployment early in 2009, and had time on his hands to finally pursue a life long dream of writing a full blown crime novel. Thus was born the first book, "Classmate Murders".

What followed was a series of 20 books starting with "The Classmate Murders" which introduces the main character, Jim Richards

Vegas Showgirl Murders was a great book, a good read that I reccomend for ages 14+. You have to read Classmate Murders first, though, to get the overall point.

Took only two days to finish the book. Now I have to go buy the next one. I seem to remember there are 18 more books so far - guess I know what I will be doing in my free time the next 36 days.

this like all of the series of serial killers is a fun fast paced book. I enjoyed it very much, being the age bracket of Jim Richards and a former Las Vegas Dancer, I loved every page and the facts and locations are very acurate

I have read all of the books in this series and just finished the first two in the Fetal Series. Needless to say I just bought the next two in that series and will read those waiting on any new books to come!! I highly recommend Bob Moats books to everyone I know that is looking for a great book or series to read!!

The writing is okay. The sex stuff is kind of weird, not because of the characters' age, but because it feels forced, like the author just wants to remind you that 60 year olds are still virile and have sex. The writing is okay. The story is pretty predictable. Still, it is a pretty good, light read.

With the second Jim Richards story, Bob Moats is getting more comfortable with his concept and keeping the story moving. He does a solid job keeping me engaged and wanting to read the next story.

Good series. Nice, easy read. The only real criticism I have is that his story lines makes it easy to figure out who-done-it Books lack a bit of that wow factor. Likeable characters. A few editing issues. Recommend reading this series in order. Where one book ends, the next one begins.

These books are all about an older guy who still likes playing detective. There are always new charactors that add alot to the story. I enjoy reading them because they are funny and have lots of twists and turns so that you don't know what will happen to him next.
