Caitlin Saunders is willing to risk everything to learn the truth about her husband's sudden death and the men who say they love her. But she's not ready for her new friend, Josie, and all her talk of soul mates. And she's certainly not ready for the possibility of past lives and what the laws of karma and reincarnation mean to her this time around. It takes betrayal and deceit before she's willing to challenge her traditional beliefs and make peace with both the past and the present. Take the journey with Caitlin as she pulls back the veil between illusion and reality and experiences the healing power of love and forgiveness.

This book's title has a double meaning. One is the 'veil' that most everyone wears to protect themselves from daily hurts and getting too close until we get to 'know' another person well, and the 'veil' that separates our current life from the lives of those that have passed, or even, in the case of reincarnation, our own previous lives.

This book is both a mystery of a young woman who has just suddenly become a widow and is searching for the reason her beloved was ripped away, and a tr

Whether or not you believe in soul mates or reincarnation, Patricia Sheehy's "Veil of Illusion" offers a highly satisfying journey to a realm beyond what is known, what is comfortable. While searching for truth to overcome sorrow and deception in her life, Caitlin Saunders finds love emerging from another place and time, convincing her (and this reader) that true love is not a coincidence. Sheehy delivers a complex plot with skill and sensitivity. Her can't-put-it-down pace drives the story thro

This is not a book you will read and then forget quickly. It should be savored, reflected upon and perhaps (if you're lucky) it will lead you to new paths in a search for spirituality. It is not a religious tirade, but a gentle suggestion of worlds not yet explored by everyone. But fascinating nevertheless. And comforting.

Veil Of Illusion is a love story with an air of mystery, and the connections between the characters and their experiences are plausible.
A believable tale, with just the right amount of modern spoken language and descriptive narrative makes the premise of the backstory realistic and worth pondering.
Having never read a metaphysical novel before, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Veil Of Illusion was an easy, satisfying read.
I have even deemed this novel worthy of a second reading!

    Just One More Chapter

I am not a reader. Books make me sleepy. THIS book, however, drew me right in. I fell in love with Caitlin's strength as much as I did her vulnerability. Each night I would tell my husband 'I'm just going to finish this chapter'...two or three chapters later, I would finally turn off the light! Patricia Sheehy is finally an author capable of painting a picture that I want to admire & study. I want to continue to learn about her characters...I want those characters to be my friends! Her insights into past lives and the curosity we all have but are sometimes afraid to explore, give a sense of warmth & comfort. I've read this book 3 times and look forward to reading ALL of Mrs. Sheehy's future works! 'The art on the cover is beautiful as well!!'

    Engaging Reading-

When I first read of this book's publication, I was fascinated by the themes woven into it and knew it had to be my next read. It's so much more than a wonderful story of love and self exploration... with Caitlin openly seeking unexplored worlds of karma and past lives. For those readers who have ever questioned the possibility of reincarnation and how it might drive the actions we take in our current life, this is a must read! I recently had the opportunity to hear this author speak and can't wait for her next novel to be published. She is a fascinating person...as one would expect after reading this book.

    Non-Stop Reading!

Not the typical love story. Brings you right into the life of Caitlin with thoughts of your own life weaved into it. You really begin to wonder if you have lived a past live (or lives) and it is truly intriguing. I could not put it down. It captured the reader's interest as her details are vivid and you really got a picture of what was being written. You got a feeling that this was a very normal woman who lost her husband in a tragic accident and wasn't sure which steps to take. After completing the book I have thought of it often. It was extremely thought provoking and I would recommend it to anyone. I believe Book Clubs would truly love this book and the discussions to follow would be quite interesting as your own view points would most likely come into the conversation. Would love to read more novels by this author.

    Great Summer Read!

I loved the book! Once I started reading, I could not put it down. Besides being a love story, the author presents ideas that make the reader reflect on his/her own belifs about life. Caitlin is a very real character who is easy to relate to. Love to read more of Sheehy's work.
