Overview

A sizzling story of decadence, drama and daring outfits! Audrey realizes she's in over her head when she gets embroiled with icy-cool banker, Sterling. His ideas of adult fun are more than she can handle, so she packs her bags and walks out of his luxury Florida apartment, heading back to Washington DC in search of a regular life with a regular guy. But for a girl like Audrey, this is not as easy as it sounds. When Patrick Dugan, the charismatic owner of an old-world bar, fixes Audrey in his sights, some strange alliances are about to be formed. Within a week Audrey talks her way into a job at Patrick's bar and a room in the apartment he shares with a drag queen jazz singer called Basil. The highly sexed roommates are soon getting intimate with each other, even experimenting with games of kinky SM sex. But Audrey soon suspects that Patrick is not all that he seems. Why is he pretending to be gay? And what is he covering up for his father, a pillar of the local community? Audrey is so affected by the enigmatic, dominant barman that she doesn't realise they are connected by a mutual adversary - a cold-hearted man who will take them all down if he doesn't get what he wants.

    Erotic Adult Romance

Emma Holly definitely has a talent in writing erotic romantic fiction. This book had all the ingredients. Decadence, romance and some S & M thown in. The only problems found in this book, is that it is obvious that Ms. Holly is not an American writer. The characters are labeled as American and the setting is in the good old U.S. But Ms. Holly's grammar and terminology at many points is very British. It became confusing as to what side of the Atlantic these characters were at. Also, the main character, Audrey, is a very sexually active heroine, with many different partners. Yet, the safe safe factor was almost a non-issue. Only with two people did she have them use a condom. One of them being the gay/bisexual Basil who happened to be the only one not sleeping around previously to his encounters with Patrick and Audrey. All of her other partners, who had been sexually active (Patrick and Tommy), did not use protection. That was odd. All in all it is a good erotic novel. Audrey and Patrick made a very sexy couple as well as Basil and the seemingly straight Patrick. Only wished there had been more of the sexy Basil who seemed to be the best written character.

    This is my fantasy!

Another excellent book by Emma Holly! She is my favorite Black Lace writer of all time. The hottest sex, interesting and believable characters and a plot - what more can you ask for? This foray into life as a submissive is rocky at first for our heroine Audrey. She finally meets Patrick, who not only can give her what she craves, but because of her finds out new things about himself and his sexual appetites that he never knew before. Very hot, this is a definite keeper in my home library!
