Revenge is sweet...

Self-made billionaire Alex Damon wants his pound of flesh from the people who ripped his family apart. When he discovers his enemies' daughter is working at his company -- and most likely spying for them -- he decides to start his revenge by seducing her.

Natalie Hall is stunned at the personal interest from the CEO of her company. Vulnerable, with an already bruised heart, she wants to avoid any involvement -- but she can't deny the desire he arouses in her.

...but love is sweeter...

What should've been a straightforward eye-for-an-eye starts to unravel as Natalie's unflinching loyalty and kindness begin to thaw Alex's cold intent. But caring for her is unthinkable...since he plans to use everything in his power to ruin her family and everyone else she holds dear.

**This is a joint review for Vengeful in Love and Reunited in Love**
These great books drew me in from the very beginning. There is a ton of passion, high society people and events, hot guys, relationship drama, and so much more! I loved both sets of characters and both of the story lines were engaging.
Alex and Natalie have this spark from the moment the meet each other. Alex is a seriously sexy alpha male billionaire and Natalie is beautiful, smart, successful, and kind woman. Don’t get me wrong though, she can get seriously feisty and has no problem standing up for herself. Ethan and Kerri actually had a one night stand a long time ago and happened to reconnect. Ethan is the embodiment of hot and knows how to get what he wants. Oh, and he’s also a billionaire, is Alex’s best friend, and works with Alex and Natalie. Kerri is Natalie’s best friend just come back to the states from Hong Kong. She’s used to keeping everyone at arm’s length and is a complete work-a-holic. All four of these characters were great and and they had individual personalities that made me really like them for different reasons.
The characters and plot were well developed and I truly enjoyed reading them. It was interesting to see how all the characters are connected to each other and I’m guessing that some of the characters introduced in these books will show up in future books in the series. I look forward to reading more of them and I’m giving these 2 a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

Highly recommended for readers looking for a charming and captivating romance to get lost in...

Carnal Secrets is a contemporary romance novel written by Nadia Lee. This was the first work that I have read from this author and I loved the book. Nadia Lee captured me through her writing.

Nadia Lee did a great job with the storyline. She weaved a wonderful story with Carnal Secrets involving a passionate romance, betrayal, lies, corporate espionage, and carnal secrets. I loved everything about this book; the pacing, the characters, the plot, the angst, the sexual tension, the drama, and the characters. Natalie and Alex were well developed characters. The plot was also well-developed along with the storyline. It pulled me in emotionally and gripped me right from the beginning.

Self-made billionaire Alex Damon wants his pound of flesh from the people who ripped his family apart. When he discovers that his enemies’ daughter is working at his company he decides to start by seducing her. What should’ve been a straightforward eye-for-an-eye unravels as her unflinching loyalty and gentleness start to thaw his cold intent. But caring for her is unthinkable since he plans to use everything in his power to ruin her, her family and everyone else she holds dear.

Natalie is an Asian woman, adopted by a wealthy, conservative, white American political family. Not only does she know nothing about her heritage and biological parents, her adopted mother is downright cruel and doesn’t make it a secret that she can’t stand Natalie. Not only is there no sisterly bond between Natalie and her younger sister, she constantly does everything in her power to hurt Natalie as well as her dad, a busy politician. He isn’t really present and when he is, he doesn’t really care. Natalie’s childhood was lonely and loveless and to make it worse, she doesn’t really know who she is and where she stands in the world. But despite her difficult background Natalie managed to become a strong, independent and capable young woman.

I enjoyed Carnal Secrets and highly recommend this for readers looking for a charming and captivating romance to get lost in. This book will keep your attention. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

Thank you Nadia Lee for a wonderful storyline.

    Not good

    ## Not good. I liked the idea of the story, but the execution lacked....well everything. The story floated all over the place. It was confusing at times, not knowing enough background information of the characters (especially the parents and god parents) and companies. The heroine was so highly educated, so it was difficult for me to believe that she would let everyone treat her like dirt (even the hero). At one point he throws a bunch of bills from his wallet at her to make her feel like a whore. Then later he tells her he hates her so much it hurts. And let's not forget he accuses her of espionage and fires her to boot. Nice! NOT. I realize every book has to have conflict, but there needs to be a balance. They never had any good times together, so how could they possibly fall for each other? Even the sex scenes were bland because this couple lacked chemistry. Don't waste your time on this book. I wish I hadn't.

I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and it had a well thought out plot. I absolutely adored the vengeful attitude of Alex and it was delightful when he decided to listen to his heart.

    No thanks

Please be warned that Alex is a jerk through this entire book. Note to author: there have to be some redeeming qualities for us to believe that the heroine falls for him.

    Confusing start for Book 1.

No background of company names, company purpose and unfamiliar players makes it difficulttot understand some of the dialogue.

Great Start to Sexy Contemporary Romance Series -

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review.

While we’ve all heard or read the phrase that “revenge is a dish best served cold”, the reality is that revenge is seldom clean and emotionless, something the characters in Nadia Lee’s Vengeful in Love learn firsthand.  Filled with well-developed characters, good dialogue and an intriguing corporate mystery, Ms. Lee grabbed my attention from the first page and kept it throughout her story.  A contemporary romance, set in both Washington D.C. and Hong Kong, Ms. Lee’s new series, Hearts on the Line, is off to a really good start with Vengeful in Love.

A self-made billionaire, Alexander Damon has learned a lot of lessons on the way to success; the most important lessons being those dealing with trust.  Determined to take revenge against Emily Rodale, the woman he holds responsible for his father’s failures, Alex has planned the perfect revenge.   Seduce Natalie Hall, Ms. Rodale’s goddaughter, and use everything he has to destroy anyone who stands in his way.

The adopted daughter of a U.S. Senator, Natalie Hall has learned that when it comes to business and love, it’s better to keep the two things separate.  When her boss at DDE, a defense contractor, is fired and she gets an unexpected promotion, Natalie is surprised and a little bit leery about having to work up close and personal with Alex Damon, the company’s owner.  Determined to ignore her intense attraction to the man, Natalie finds herself between a rock and a hard place when Alex makes it clear he’s deeply attracted to her too.  Even though she knows she shouldn’t give in, she can’t help what her heart and body both want.

The scenes between Alex and Natalie are well written and enjoyable; they have great verbal and physical chemistry.  While Alex and Natalie both are determined to keep things only “physical” in their “non-relationship”, it soon became apparent to me that they were emotionally involved from the start.   While both Natalie and Alex are well educated, they both had difficult experiences in their childhoods which have left emotional scars.  Natalie has never felt loved by her adopted family, even though they saw to it she was educated and brought up in the best environments, and Alex had to deal with his father’s business failure and emotional problems on top of his mother’s abandonment when their lives changed .  As if the emotional issues they are both dealing with weren’t enough, there’s the added situation that someone at DDE is giving privileged information to the Rodale Company and Natalie is suspected of being a corporate spy.

Ms. Lee does a wonderful job dealing with the characters ongoing physical attraction, while at the same time developing an emotional connection between them.  Natalie is determined to be loved for who she is and not her social or business connections and Alex is determined to keep his emotional involvement light.  While I was really drawn to Natalie’s character right away, and thought Alex was hot and smart, I do have to warn you that Alex is not your typical hero; his calculated seduction of Natalie, his determination to use Natalie to get revenge and his occasional lack of communication make him difficult to like at times.  In fact there’s a scene where I think I would personally would have assaulted him because of his behavior (no, I’m not giving spoilers – I’ll just say it’s a doozy!).

The secondary characters, from Natalie’s adopted family to Emily Rodale and her son, Charlie, are well written and contribute a lot to the story.  At first it’s easy to dislike them all, and their behavior towards Natalie when things really start to hit the fan, but Ms. Lee shows that there is always more to the story than everyone thinks they knows.  It’s also clear that none of them really know Natalie and Alex, and that they need to learn that honesty, integrity and loyalty are more than just mere words.  I especially liked Alex and Natalie’s best friends, Ethan Lloyd and Kerri Wilson, who will be the main characters in Reunited in Love, Ms. Lee’s next book in this series.

Will Alex realize he loves Natalie and that she’s the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with before it’s too late?  Will Natalie forgive Alex for what he’s done?  You’ll have to read Vengeful in Love to find out.  I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the first book that I have read of author Nadia Lee and I was captured from the very beginning of “Vengeful in Love”!  I couldn't set it down as I wanted to know what would happen next and how the story would play out.  This story showed how dynamic people are and how perception differs from reality.  I could relate with the characters and their perspectives.  Like with life there are ups and downs and this story had its share making it more similar to life. This story had me cheering on characters and feeling a range of emotions (happy, sad, mad, confused, and thrilled).  I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance books.

But this surprised me. Good pacing not too long and not too overblown. Worth the read I may even get the next one!
