I had borrowed this book from the library and loved every minute of it, so I decided to purchase the Nook Book copy- the story is the same; however, the numerous typos in the e-book format make it very difficult to remain drawn into the story- some words are blatant typos while others just don't make sense- a shame since Polly and Nicholas are very dynamic characters that deserve your full attention. I would give the story itself 5 stars; this format of reading 3.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

To be fair, I don't always appreciate Jane Feather novels though never because of the writing, which is usually great. This one, however surprised me by being both well written, intriguing and still thrilling to read. There is a straightforwardness to the plot and openness of the characters that is refreshing. Some novels depend on the characters being naive and amazingly oblivious to build the climax but Nicholas and Polly proved intelligent and insightful, and there are no secrets from the reader, which is unusal because it still works well. The direction of their thoughts, their actions, and their reactions to situations all made sense. Things don't turn out perfectly simply because they are the heros of the plot, and in that there is a sense of realism, while never losing grip of the romantic fantasy. It was well balanced, well written and never overly fanciful. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
