There are degrees of obscurity, from songs that just weren't hits to songs that were in unsuccessful shows, to songs that were cut from shows, and so on. Digging down for a third well, second and a half Vernon Duke album, Ben Bagley reached a deeper level of obscurity, drawing nearly half the material from shows that were never produced. Shows like Nantucket, which had lyrics by Harold Rome. But there were also songs from the 1936 Ziegfeld Follies Duke scored with lyrics by Ira Gershwin, from Cabin in the Sky, and from the Eddie Cantor vehicle Banjo Eyes.
