Although initially a lot of the attention garnered by the New Riders of the Purple Sage was generated by the group's association with Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, the band had a lengthy career long after that connection had run its course. In the late '80s and early '90s, NRPS, led in various configurations by this time by John Dawson and multi-instrumentalist Rusty Gauthier, recorded several albums for Relix Records, and this two-disc set collects some of the best tracks from that time period.
