Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"This book is perfect if you are new to cables.... It takes a beginning cabler through Mock Cables, Cable Panels and Cable Patterns in a very methodical, not scary way...incredibly helpful to a new cable knitter who may be not quite sure what she's seeing between the printed stitch pattern and the knitted stitch pattern." --Knitty.com

"This is a refreshingly clean, inviting, accessible, well-written introduction to a technique that can, if you enjoy it, lead you on all sorts of more elaborate adventures. It doesn't dumb-down cables, nor does it claim to offer the ultimate encyclopedia of every cable stitch ever created. In short, this book is exactly what its title promises: a very easy guide to cable knitting." --Knitter's Review

Library Journal
Craft editor Watterson introduces the method and artistry of cable knitting in this nicely organized introduction. A variety of technique-based lessons are interspersed with simple projects and sample swatches; this allows knitters to learn at their own pace. The cable swatches, photographed in full color and large enough for readers to clearly see the detail, are an original, useful touch; however, Melissa Leapman's Cables Untangled is a good beginner's guide, featuring more exciting projects.

    A Must for New/Intermediate Knitters

A great resource for learning cables and understanding them. I recently purchased this book and I'm enjoying it very much! Knitting books aren't always easy to follow, but this one is written very simple and covers numerous cable patterns and techniques.I've been knitting for almost five or six years and I would recommend this book to any new or intermediate knitter. Go out get it! You won't be disappointed.

Best Ever for Learning Cable Knitting

This is the best book I have ever seen on learning how to knit cable designs. They take you through each step very clearly and concisely. Illustrations are great and detailed. I originally borrowed it from the library, renewed it as many time as they would let me as I worked by way through all of the examples. Then I was hooked - had to own it so I could refer to it whenever I needed to.
