Jessica Williams' virtuosity sometimes allows her to sound like two pianists at once as one can hear during parts of this CD's opener, "I Want to Be Happy", but she also knows how to use space and dynamics. On this live solo set, the pianist sometimes shows the influence of Thelonious Monk in her witty stride, McCoy Tyner as shown on "Mr. Syms", and Oscar Peterson, while her lengthy trill on "Straight, No Chaser" is right from Earl Hines.
