I've used this book in a course on American History (1877-1920) and it provides a bounty of tidbits on the middle class culture of the era. While lengthy and tedious at times - specifically the chapter on housing - and occasionally falling short on relating the cultural events to the larger trends in American history, it nonetheless is solid in what it intents to do. A good source for getting a taste of what life was like during this time. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
