Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Katsh
Author Dobson sensed there'd be a lot gained by sniffing her way through history. Judging by the success of her three titles, she was right! With wit and irreverence, she reports English history while also revealing the realities of everyday life during the Roman times. There are cartoons galore to support the informative, lively, and often gruesome text. Some of the cartoons contain a scented panel that releases an odor when scratched. While the odor released isn't usually pleasant, it does, thankfully, fall short of the one concocted by the writer's explicit style and the reader's imagination and experience. Part of the "Smelly Old History: Scratch 'n' Sniff Your Way Through the Past" series.
