Jack wasn't expecting to get a gift certificate for Virtual Memories from his wife. His birthday was disappointing in other ways too. His wife fell asleep the instant she got the baby to bed, leaving him alone to brood about getting older. That's why he created a fantasy "memory" during his Virtual Memories session. In his fantasy, he was single, with no kids, and he worked for the CIA instead of the office.

Except, for Jack, the game became his own reality. Something went wrong. The fantasy memories weren't "virtual", but actually REPLACED Jack's real memories. Now Jack truly believed that he worked for the CIA, that he was single, and that his mission with the CIA involved killing people. Somebody out there knows how Jack's session went wrong, and why. It's a job for the pizza loving detective, Serena Wilcox. Funny thing is, no one hired her to watch over Jack.

What People are saying about this

Harriet Klausner

The second Serena Wilcox mystery is a light, witty, and delightful private detective tale. The main protagonist is so laid back, readers will check her pulse. Still, Serena seems to always have enough energy to do the job. The cleverly executed story line virtually seems to come from today's headlines. Virtual Memories by Natalie Buske Thomas is a classy reading experience that deserves the highest recommendations.
