I didn't find the novel consistent. Firstly, Marcus appears and acts as the alpha male dictating to Judith and everything but then about a chapter later he's this pile of mush that's easily heartbroken. It seemed that every other chapter his character changed. Plus, the plot moved slowly there was a lot of random stuff in the middle that could have been taken out and the novel would still be well done. But don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful. I did enjoy the book but not as much as other works by Feather.
