Barnes & Noble - Carol Wright
Whatever your personal "vision" of love is, you'll probably find a song here that captures that lovin' feeling. Visions of Love samples the range of vocal artists on the Windham Hill label, which seems yearly to expand its offerings to include more pop vocalists. You'll hear some smooth, soulful "oh-oh-oh baby" sounds from Peabo Bryson "My Heart Belongs to You", Phillip Ingram and Marilyn Harris "Like Love", and Phil Perry "One Heart, One Love". The flavor of the melodic contemporary Christian ballad is captured in two songs by Jim Brickman: "Your Love," sung by Michelle Wright, and "The Gift," featuring Collin Raye and Susan Ashton.
Many songs express "finally just met the love of my life" sentiments -- always a pleasant fantasy, regardless of how often or not it happens in real life. Anne Cochran sings David Grow's beautiful anthem "After All These Years," a perfect song for anniversaries, expressing the wonder of an enduring relationship. If forgiveness is needed, you'll find solace in Larry Stewart's "Still in Love." The song with the most texture, pathos, and honest truth is Janis Ian's "Getting Over You," which unravels the anguished thoughts of a broken relationship. A harder, more cutting sound arrives in Amanda Upchurch's "Shower the People." The album's one instrumental comes from producer/pianist Brickman, who joins alto sax player Dave Koz on the sparkling and buoyant "Partners in Crime." If it's love you're after, you've come to the right album. The perfect gift for weddings, anniversaries, or simply "thinking-of-you."
All Music Guide - Tim Sheridan
Brickman's trademark schmaltz kicks into high gear on this collection of duets. Partners in crime include Janis Ian, Peabo Bryson and Stephen Bishop. Even the most sentimental music lover should have the insulin ready, this one is a doozy.

    A sure to be classic

This is perhaps Jim's best CD to date. It is the epitome of romance and beauty. Jim's music is sure to be remembered for years decades to come.
