Overview

Shape shifter or clone? Which has returned Rebecca Tierney's husband's body to her nine months after he was cremated?

Rebecca has returned to her husband's family home on the largest, deepest, coldest, and most unforgiving of the Great Lakes, Superior, to dispose of his ashes. But the old house holds more than memories of a love ended too soon. A Visitor searches the old Victorian house perched on the bluffs of a lake that never gives up its dead for the key that will stop the dying in his world.

The secrets of the house cloistered from the world by towering pines and iron rich bluffs in an isolated finger of Michigan's Upper Peninsula can free Rebecca from her grief and teach a man of logic that love is worth more than eternal life…if only she will open her mind and he his heart.

Editorial Reviews

Blether - Anne Edwards
Something new and different in romance, a tale that will please the romantic and sci fi fan. Recommended as a fun read from the pen of talented Barbara Raffin. You'll be looking for other tales by this author. Enjoy
Fallen Angel Reviews - Tracey Tracey
Although this is a Sci-fi romance, it is not overpoweringly sci-fi. I was thoroughly taken in and enjoyed the elements of alien forces and the relationships between the characters. Plots and subplots, main characters and minor characters are terrific. Very intriguing, kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Even if you are not a Sci-Fi fan I encourage you to open The Visitor. It is an enjoyable suspenseful romantic read. The ending is pure satisfaction.

Meet the Author

Barbara Raffin grew up a country girl on the Michigan-Wisconsin border, but loves to visit the big city and live the hurried pace now and then. Blessed with a vivid imagination, she’s created stories and adventures in one form or another for as long as she can remember. She wrote her first book at age twelve in retaliation to the lack of female leads in the adventure stories she loved reading. But it is a love of playing with words, exploring the human psyche, and telling stories that keeps her writing. Whether a romantic romp or gothic-flavored suspense, her books have one common denominator: characters who are wounded, passionate, and searching for love.

She still lives on the Michigan-Wisconsin border with her Keeshond dog Katie and her avid outdoorsman husband who continues to support her love affair with reading and writing. Visit Barbara’s web site to learn more about her and her books. www.BarbaraRaffin.com
