Overview

When truly sophisticated Web pages are a necessity, not just a nice idea, users are ready for Visual InterDev, an Internet tool that forms a HUGE part of Microsoft's Visual Studio.

WHY YOU NEED THIS BOOK

Microsoft is pushing Visual InterDev as a complete and inexpensive tool for placing applications on the Web

  • Of the developers who purchased the latest release of Visual Studio, 40% used Visual InterDev and 70% planned on placing their applications on the Web.

  • Describes how to effectively use Microsoft's powerful Web development application to create dynamic multimedia Web pages including: complex graphics, in-line animation objects, audio files, and video clips

  • Covers the 3D features of Visual InterDev, which enables users to import and export objects and files created in VRML and other virtual reality modeling languages

  • Demystifies the high-level programming resources needed to truly maximize Visual InterDev, including discussions of SQL, Visual C++, and VB Script

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Visual InterDev For Dummies shows developers how to get the most out of Visual InterDev by explaining how to use each function.

Visual InterDev is a high-end, graphics, forms-based Web development tool that combines the functionality of desktop-publishing programs and voice and graphics compression with Object Linking & Embedding support. Visual InterDev X For Dummies is for those users who want to design and publish a multimedia Web page that looks like those distributed on CD-ROMs. Readers find how to use InterDev to create HTML, build Java, edit images, manage Web sites, create ActiveX objects, develop both client-side and server-side scripts, and even edit sounds.

Visual InterDev For Dummies shows why Visual InterDev is the choice for web-building teams who want to crank out a serious, new site in a hurry. Our book shows developers how to create a custom-made page for each site visitor, how to build pages that automatically update, how to add multimedia finesse, and how to take advantage of many other capabilities. Readers discover how to create powerful server-side scripts using HTML and JavaScript or VB Script. Visual InterDev For Dummies also shows how to take advantage of Visual InterDev's powerful database integration capabilities.

The CD includes sample code, some exciting Visual InterDev Web sites, Java applets, ActiveX controls, and other tools for building powerful sites.

    Not the best Dummies ever

Some of the dummies books are great starting points. This one is not!!! It covers more about database creation than using Interdev. If you have ANY experience in the world of Database Management, this is not the book for you.
