Overview

Matthew Logan, war hero, flying ace, anticipates a peaceful homecoming. Of mixed heritage, Irish and Navaho, he's drawn to the old ways. His second night home, he's reunited with his old flame, Kaitlyn. Even though she married then divorced his childhood enemy Joe Centerton, she and Matthew renew their relationship. Thwarted by his mother, a devout Catholic, in both his relationship with Kaitlyn and his desire to return to the old ways, he struggles to adapt to civilian life. Everyone believes Kaitlyn and Centerton's eight-year-old son Jeff is Matthew's. Centerton had vowed to kill Matthew, and his marriage to Kaitlyn was a vengeful act intended to hurt Matthew. An abusive husband, the marriage only lasted a short time. When Centerton kidnaps Jeff and holds him in an ancient Anasazi cliff dwelling, a battle to the death ensues that tests both Matthew's will to live and the power of his and Kaitlyn's love.
