She thought she'd find freedom as a stowaway... But she hadn't considered what would happen when the tail boss found out....

When Anna Lillington’s widowed mother presses her into a financially advantageous but horrific union with an older man, the young woman plans her escape. It comes in the form of a wagon train heading west. Anna stows away by pretending to be a cook, but when trail boss Hank Wade discovers that neither cooking – nor obedience – is her strong suit, he takes responsibility for her. And as Lillian’s spurned suitor pursues her hell-bent on revenge, Anna finds herself relying on Hank’s protection – and guidance – more and more.

This book was originally published on Bethany's Woodshed as "Wagon Train Stowaway, Book One" and "Wagon Train Stowaway, Book Two". This combines those two books into one complete, longer novel.

    Too many errors

I think the author might have had a decent story to tell, but didn't keep the main characters' names or places straight, which I found confusing....was it an error or was it another character, or was it a different place? I think the author used 3 different names for the trail boss within the first couple of chapters, and it didn't get better from there. I quit reading this before I got half-way through.

    Very good story

This is a very good story about a girl who runs away from a bad situation only to land in even more hot water when the trail boss discovers she lied about being a cook. Plus it doesn't help that being obedient doesn't come naturally to her so she seems to always having to learn things the hard way.
