Overview

There's no time like the present...

Executive assistant Emma Taylor is desperate for a little time away; away from her job, her life and from thoughts of her boss's son who doesn't seem to know she even exists. Tired of waiting for the time to be right, she takes advantage of her boss's generous offer for a little weekend getaway to thank her for helping out with a difficult business deal.

Unless you're still running from your past...

Former NFL superstar Lucas Montgomery is still suffering from a career-ending injury. His self-imposed exile from life is exactly what he wants; a sanctuary where there's no chance for disappointment or distractions and that's exactly the way he likes it. While his family has been patiently waiting for Lucas to come around and embrace life once again, they don't realize that it wasn't just his career that was lost, but his sense of identity.

...And afraid to hope for the future

Lucas thought everything was fine until sweet, sexy and completely off-limits Emma Taylor comes crashing into his carefully constructed world one snowy weekend and turns his entire life upside down.

Was Mother Nature really to blame or did someone else lend a hand?

Meet the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Teaching creative writing to students from elementary through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams motivated Samantha to take that step as well. Stay With Me (Montgomery Brothers book 3) hit the USA Today bestseller list upon its debut. "Catering to the CEO" was included in the romance bundle "Loving the CEO" - a five-book package that made the New York Times and the USA Today Bestseller list. In March 2013, "The Christmas Cottage" was nominated for two Indie Romance Convention Awards - Best Indie Romance Novella and Best Indie Contemporary Romance, while Samantha was nominated for Indie Author of the Year. When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, blogging, playing Scrabble on Facebook, and spending time with her husband of 24 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

Great romantic read. Couldn't put it down once I started it - made for a late night but that's okay! Loved the way that Emma seemed to push Lucas's buttons and how he really did try to resist her but their attraction was too strong. Excellent book!!

Spelling nazis are almost as bad as plot spoilers. Usually when i see spelling nazis' griping about spelling errors, there are usually only two or three misspelled words. Get a grip and get over such trivial issues. If you think you are so much better, get up and write a book. Bet you cant do it.

It's a quick read at about 115 pages. I was disappointed with the story line. The romance scenes lacked passion and lust. Most of the story was the two main characters arguing. I almost didn't want them to get together in the end! The book ended too abruptly. I will not be buying anymore of Chase's book...this one was just too disappointing.

    Light romance

Interfering father, reclusive son, beautiful employee, mix-up in delivery of important papers (thanks to interferring father), unexpected snowstorm all combine to make a satisfying romance.

    Ok

This an ok short story, held my interest, enjoyed how Emma's Boss and Lucas's Dad played matchmaker. I did not like how Lucas treated Emma and the hateful things he said to her and accused her of being in on his Dad's skeem. I hated how she just fell back in his arms when she saw him again, she should have made him grovel or held him at arms length and start slow with him. I think Emma was a weak Heroine!!!! There are no sex scenes. I just didn't feel the emotions between the Heroine and Hero in this story.

I have been following Samantha Chase's work since "Jordan's Return". While "Wait for Me" is a bit shorter, it is still a great contemporary romance and I love that it is part of a trilogy! I can't wait for the next two to come out! Lucas is great at hiding away from the world and Emma is the perfect foil to drag him out of his safe little life. Their chemistry is wonderful to read!

Enjoyable short romantic story to read anytime of the year. Just bought the next two. Yes, there is a few spelling errors but it does not take away from the story unless you are stupid and can't figure out what the author means. Life is short, don't let it bother you people. Relax and enjoy this light, fun, romance of two people falling in love. JudyE
