This is a good book for when you know that you are not going to be able to read for extended periods, or have a lot of interuptions. The stories are quick and easy to read, but I usually knew before the end "who did it". Good airplane read as you can pick up and put down without losing the train of story.

First story was almost Hitchkocian because tective gets the idea of who did it, and then it ends.
The western was a classic locked room mystery.
Have read better over all.

Overview
Five light mystery short stories: from puzzles like "Waiter, There's a Clue in My Soup!", "The Hoosegow Strangler," and "Trail of the Lonesome Stickpin," to suspense in "Alibi" and "The Promise." These stories were previously published in magazines like Handheld Crime and Futures Mysterious Anthology. Several of these stories were nominated for a Derringer Award or put forward for an Edgar.
