Not an easy read. Just couldn't get in going. Might want to pass on this one.

For anyone who has stood in line, formed up, fell out, hurried to wait, waited to hurry, went to mess, messed up and been messed with in the Armed Services (whew), you'll enjoy this book. A literate light-hearted view of noncombat boredom -- and one man's unconventional way to cope. Insanity. -- Diane J. Newton, award winning author of suspense.

A witty military satire of fine form, Waiting for War tells the story of Specialist Hoffman, a crazy young serviceman stuck in the middle of the Kuwaiti desert in fall 2002. Farcical events and hilarious characters combine to shape a tale which is both highly entertaining and moderately insightful.
