SHORT STORY

Only two reasons could make Kathy Sullivan’s usually responsible daughter elope to Vegas with a man Kathy has never met—insanity or pregnancy. Neither possibility is one Kathy cares to consider. Even though things turned out okay for her in the end, the last thing she wants is to see her child repeat her mistakes.

Since her husband’s death only ten months ago—the second time Kathy has lost a man she loved—she feels her life is over. While waiting to meet her daughter and new son-in-law for dinner, she discovers destiny still has a few wonderful surprises in store, and it’s never too late for a second chance at love.

It seems that the 2 stories in this book are prequals to major stories because they both leave u hangging in the end.

Short and quick...liked the idea of the story but would have liked to read more. Would consider reading books by this author.

VERY DECEIVING! Showed 86 pages, but this story stopped at 34, and skipped 2 at a time. It is a shame, because it was a cute story and would have been a lot better if longer. But it did convey that long can come upon you quickly and/or last a long time. (ljb)

This short story should have been expanded into or included in a full length book. With some twists, turns and more snappy dialogue, it would make a treat book.

Good short story...enjoyed the preview of memory of you much more but cannot find the book...also i wish b&n would screen reviews because i along with others seriously read them but some people write stupid things using it as chat room or dating site...absolutely useless!

Pretty good read.

I did like this very short story and going by the reviews a mixed bag of oohs and boos. I concur this is just a teaser prequel for the next book, Matt'story. Yes it could be part of the next book since it is super short. The premise is just that a brief glimpse in this book of second chances. While good I cannot give it a 5 star because it really has no super definitive ending but who knows this may be deliberate and something else may come along although I have not read any other books by this author yet so I have no idea. Cute little tale of love lost and re-found again. I have to say this author warrants another look and read if you can because I think she could well be a 5 star writer which I will find out later in one of her other books. Definitely worth your time. I got this as a freebie on sale to sample the author and am glad of it. Reviewed by Elaine Breault on April 9th, 2016 and it is a 4**** Star book. r

A free 45 pages (not 83) with 2 excerpts of stories and 2 advertisements for others. Good stories at the start should you choose to buy.

I totally enjoyed this short story. It is deceptive in that more than half the book is a preview to another book in the series.  Apart from some innuendo this is a clean story of second chances. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a little something to escape to for a short while.

This was a fun read. Short, of course, but nice characters and reasonable emotions for a mother whose child has eloped. Then it veers off into fairyland with the sort of thing we'd dream of happening but never expect. Enjoyable read.

WAITING FOREVER is a light, bright romantic comedy which has a serious undertone, but, is carried off in a breezy, effortless manner. It speaks of love lost, love gained, and the surprises which life can throw at people, at the most unexpected moments. It's an easy to read short story which re-affirms one's belief in the theory that second chances are always available in life.

Cute, sweet, and short, sort of letting you know what the rest of her books would be like. I enjoyed the story and will be buying more of her books. For a free book, no one should complain. JudyE
