I was truly drawn in by the depth of emotion Author T.M. Souders

I was truly drawn in by the depth of emotion Author T.M. Souders displayed in her story Waiting On Hope. It was a read I found difficult to put down and when I did it was on the forefront of my thoughts. Lexi Dodson is a strongly written character who was the victim of an unthinkable violent act. Faced with the devastating consequences of such she returns to her hometown to try and pick up the shattered pieces of her life. Waiting for her when she returns is an angry younger brother and an ex fiance, both of whom still felt the sting of when Lexi fled her picture perfect life years earlier to seek out a road not already carved out for her. Waiting On Hope is an amazing story of betrayal, heartache, family, love and most importantly, hope. Author T.M. Souders is definitely an author on my list of people to keep an eye on and I look forward to seeing what she comes out with next.

Waiting on Hope starts with a spellbinding description and keeps you hanging on all the way through til the end. The characters are well crafted and easy to relate to. At times I felt like I was sitting around the dinner table with them. If you like love stories with gumption, this is a good choice. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next.

    Loved!

I really loved this book. Lexi is a survivor and her strength was inspiring.
I adored Elliot... he was perfect for Lexington.

While reading "Waiting on Hope," all I was thinking wa

While reading "Waiting on Hope," all I was thinking was that I was waiting for it to end. The premise was interesting, the story was not. Perhaps it would have been better being told in third person. Being inside Lexie's head was unbelievably painful. And while I appreciate Souders look into the thoughts and emotions of a rape victim - it got old very quickly. There was little growth and when it did come it was convenient and too late.

Character development in the story was non-existent (with the exception of the little on Lexie's part) and the romance hard to swallow. I have a hard time believing that after a 10 year absence that love is still as strong as the day they parted. And although Sounders attempted to explain why Elliot (the boyfriend) was so attached to Lexie's unborn baby - I had a hard time buying in.

I had issues with the horse story as well - it felt contrived and like a heavy handed analogy against giving up a baby for adoption.

Overall - a disappointment. Would not recommend this one, even as a light read.

    Highly recommended

This was the first book I've read by this author, but assuredly not the last. It was a novel about secrets, great friendship, love & betrayal. Great story, you should really check it out! I couldn't put it down.

    Very good

When Lexie returns home pregnant after a brutal rape by her best friend's husband she is surrounded by a loving family, but still has difficulty talking about her ordeal until she visits a counselor. Lexie plans on giving the baby up for adoption as soon as the child is born even though it saddens her mother. This is a really good book. It describes the pain the entire family goes through as they offer help to Lexie and the pain and fear she experiences.

    WHERE ARE THE GRAMMAR POLICE???

Misuse of punctuation aa well as of many words is very distracting. Some good information about rape and domestic violence. Childbirth scene not believable; it is inconcievable that a neonatologist or pediatrician was not present at this high-risk birth.
