I like vampires... when they're done well, and too many of the ones out there aren't, especially when it comes to romance. This book was an exception, I love the reluctant vampire Anja and her relationship with the vampire cop Bishop. Her spunky roommate Bridget helped make this a fun read, and I really liked the idea of the organization that enforces the vampire laws. Now I want to see what happens next!

What could be worse than waking up in a morgue with no idea how you got there? Finding out you're a vampire. Anja has no idea what happened to her that night and is determined to find out what happened to her. When Bishop shows up at her door asking for her license and registration, she thinks he's the police and there to help her. Well, he's the police alright, the vampire police. Anja will need Bishop's help to stay alive and learn how to be a vampire but her attraction for him just might push him away. Anja and Bishop will have to work together to find out who turned her or she just might end up dead. This is such a great vampire story. Anja is a strong female character that only bows down when she needs help and shows her strength when determined to find out who turned her. Bishop is such your typical male brooding vampire with a secret past. Always fighting what he is feeling because, well men are stubborn. Mason adds humor to the story being the flirtatious friend of Bishop, and what could make the story more complete than Leandor, the rival male suitor. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I have become a true fan of Ms. Olsen's writing! This book, like all of her others, is a page turner. I read it over the weekend and couldn't put it down until I finished. The main character, Anja, is well developed and has a strong voice. The other main character, Bishop, is a bit of a mystery still, but simply leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for book 2 in the series. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I loved this book. It had just enough romance and just enough action to make an absolutely great story. It brought up one very good question- what do you DO when you first become a vampire? Anja is clueless, and if she didn't have Bishop the vampire cop to help her (even if he isn't so happy to do it) she would have been completely lost- and she would have eaten her best friend. Bishop may be a little moody, but you can tell that he means well. I really am impatient for the next book, I can't wait to find out more about Anja's sire. Hopefully Bishop can keep Anja safe from The Order long enough for her to figure things out!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
