Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
In this interactive book that moves from day to night, kids move a sun or moon depending on which is appropriate across the pages. The mechanism takes a little practice and hopefully kids and parents will figure it out before they destroy the piece that moves from page to page. The text imparts factual information presented in rhyming couplets. The sun is credited with making rainbows (the colors are shown in the proper sequence) and the moon is credited with controlling the tides. For each reading, however, the sun/moon has to be taken back through the pages to its starting point. This procedure may be difficult for little ones. "A Slide-the-Spot Bedtime Book." 2001, Cartwheel/Scholastic, $13.95. Ages 2 to 4. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
