Walking Among the Cherry Trees is a compelling, well-paced romance by H. D'Agostino. It's a sweet, heartfelt second-chance story about former flames Morgan and Taylor. Overall, I found the story to be well-executed and enjoyable. This was definitely an easy read and the characters and story hooked me quickly. Because I'm extremely cerebral and detail-oriented, some of the flashback timeline of events became slightly distracting (to me at least), but it wasn't enough of an issue to detract me from devouring the book. Also, I think the present-day storyline could have benefited from more fleshed-out flashbacks. More details in the flashbacks may have increased the emotional impact of the present day and helped to eliminate questions that readers may still have after a major plot line is revealed. Personally, I would have liked there to have been something more left for Morgan from her grandmother, Virginia, as I'm still unsure as to why Virginia played the role she did in Morgan's deception. But ultimately, none of this takes away from the fact the Walking Among the Cherry Trees is a beautiful, emotional triumph that has me anticipating and anxiously awaiting its follow-up.

Walking Among the Cherry Trees by Heather D'Agostino is the first book in her new series The Cook Brothers and it is absolutely amazing. Second chance at love battling against some big secrets and major heartbreak. The angst will make your heart hurt. Ugh, I LOVED it!!!! Morgan is back in Cherryville to handle the estate of her maternal grandmother. She is hesitant, it has been ten years she was last here and had her heart broken, but her Corporate CEO persona needs a break and Cherryville could just be the exact medicine she needs to heal her soul. Taylor is waiting in dreaded anticipation of Morgan's return. He has been spending the past ten years suffering from the impossible choice and terrible lies from back then. He knows with Virginia's passing that Morgan will be back and the possibility of the truth coming to light is petrifying and cathartic in equal measures. This book will drag you in and not let you go until it has squeezed all your feelings out.

4 star The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, love, betrayal, and heartbreak. This is Morgan and Taylor’s story. Morgan and Taylor were in love years ago until one day Taylor didn’t love her anymore. She left town. Now 10 years later Morgan is back in town to settle her grandmother’s estate. When she sees Taylor again will it still hurt her? What happens when old feelings are brought to light? Can they try to form a relationship again? When secrets come out will those secrets shatter Morgan more than when she believed Taylor didn’t love her? Can they ever come back from this betrayal? Who all knew about the secret and kept it quiet? Can she forgive? Will this be the end of living for her father? Will she breakaway and finally live for herself? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book.
