It has been such a long time since I have read a book has made me cry.  This writer--Adriane Boyd--is exceptional.  This book is
complete at 39 pages.  It is a perfect length.

Walking Away is the perfect example of what a good writer should aspire to be.  This story was complete it had a beginning, middle,
end, and a surprise that made you want to scream and it was only 39 pages.  Walking Away is everything a story should be!

    Good job, Adriane!

I cannot, wait to read more from her!

Review: Walking Away, by Adriane Boyd

I really enjoyed reading Walking Away. I’m a fan of sitting down and reading a short story/novella length romance every now and then. This one hit the spot for me.

I’m surprised to know this is Boyd’s debut release. It’s beautifully written and shows signs that she has a great career as an author ahead of her.

I liked Cora’s character and to see how she has so much going against her in life, but she keeps plodding along and making the best of it. She’s a very likable character. I can see myself enjoying sequel if it meant reading more from Cora’s point of view. The other characters are also great. Her twin sister, Abi, isn’t a key part to the story, but was still a great addition. The same goes for everyone else the reader encounters. I don’t want to name too many to avoid spoiling the fun.

Aside from the characters, the plot, the romance, and conflict involved all made me want to keep reading. It’s a believable story-line that I feel most readers will be able to relate to in one way or another. I’d also like to applaud the slow and steady build up of relationships. I’m not a fan of things happening immediately, even when the length of the story is short. When things happen at a real world pace, they are more believable.

In closing, I want to read more work from Adriane Boyd. I hope more comes out soon because I have a feeling I’ll be one to enjoy it.
