Meet the Author

Jessica Roscoe is the author of Walking Dead Girl, a dark fantasy. From a young age, she delighted in the written word and would often scare her poor parents with outlandish stories filled with the supernatural and macabre. Jessica studied film and screenwriting at university before deciding that novels were her calling. The setting for Walking Dead Girl was inspired by a six-month stint in the U.S. where she worked as a lifeguard at a summer camp in Mount Freedom, New Jersey. She is currently working on the next book in the Vampireland series. Her other loves in life include good quality tea, wine, reading and hanging out with her husband and baby girl.

4.5 Drops Review Wombstone is a fast paced, dark vampire story

    4.5 Drops Review

Wombstone is a fast paced, dark vampire story that is both engaging and unique. I was caught up in the story and characters right away and the at times disturbing story kept my interest (and pages turning) until the last word.

This is the story of Mia, a strong willed girl who is first kidnapped by a sadistic vampire, Caleb, then ‘rescued’ by a slightly touched in the head vampire, Ryan (gotta love a vamp with mood swings, lol), who turns her. . . something she is not happy about. She wants her old life back, but with the unpredictable comes then intriguing and Wombstone is that! Though, I’m eagerly awaiting to see how the series progresses, considering the um. . . unconventional ending to the book.

If you want a great / twisted read with a bite, then Wombstone is the perfect choice.

    Sex and hot vampires

I have always been turned on by the sexual aspect of vampires and their super human libidos. The days of Dracula only interested in human blood, have been replaced with Erik Northman's sex scenes in True Blood. Lilli has captured some good stuff and hope there is more erotica to come with Ryan and Kate.....and other characters to follow.
    Good job!!

The main character, Mia Blake, starts off this strong, confident

The main character, Mia Blake, starts off this strong, confident, young lady with an attention-grabbing backstory. She is well off without the adverse effects, humble but not shy, and has a deceased father and an absent but a remarkable, caring best friend. Mia attends a private school and has advanced academically and has her entire college career planned. She has her whole life ahead of her or so she thought...Mia Blake is kidnapped and held violently against her will at an unknown location. She discovers that she is at the mercy of the world's first vampire and his murderous group of thugs that do his bidding. Death is her only hope of escaping this living, breathing nightmare but the death she receives, isn't the one she pleads for.

Can you fathom being taken from a parking lot and waking up in a nightmare? I can't even begin to imagine how I would react or what I would say to my captors but I would like to think that I would show the same amount of courage that Mia Blake does. She was bold and cunning. I admired her style and way of thinking but midway through Wombstone, Mia losses a little bit of that edge when her "new life" begins. Thankfully she redeems herself at the end only to have the s*** hit the fan right before the author's promise of a sequel.

I am curious to know how all of the open ended storylines from Wombstone will be carried out hence; I will be reading the sequel in anticipation that Mia's life will become one that she is a bit more in control. I want to watch her grow into her new self and own what she has become, play the cards she was dealt in that cunning fashion she displayed while trying to escape her abductors. I have hope that Mia's confidence will return and with that, some more character development of those supporting her. I am interested in knowing what will happen to her best friend, the witch, and what is really up with that creepy heart in the jar?!
